SLP Finally makes a pipe for stock XP

SLP is right next to me and there HP gains are for higher altitude not sea level. Most of the testing they do is 8K and above. Heck you don't even unload at less than 5500ft around here and that's just to start. I would be willing to bet that the pipe works great at 10K. Are you going to see the same gains at that altitude, probably not but it will still work good.

Visi, can you post some pics? I heard they only had one hand made pipe set for the dyno now and hadnt even started the stamings for the production pipe yet.

talked to Ron at SLP and they are ready to ship:D:)--ordering 6 monday and will post some pics about thursday

T/A, you ride at close to the same elevation that I do. Could you please find out what the gains are for 10,000 feet and up? Thanks:D

SLP test in the same places us mountain guys ride. So realy the only way to get a honest Dyno report of how your sled will do at 10k is drag the dyno up there in 10deg weather and give it some runs.

But we shall soon find out how it does as the best testing out there is done on the snow and SLP does a ton of this with every pipe that hits the catalog been in the biz 37 years if they made us pipes that did not perform they would have been gone long ago

TA feel free to chime in if you feel I am wrong.

always liked there stuff and am looking forward to trying this one out . this motor has a lot of capability and the ex side is were i figured the most would come from once someone figured it out .
counting the days till snow now .

i agree--SLP has been been working on a pipe for the REVs since late 2003 and they didnt put it out till it was right---there is a lot of companys that have made pipes that didnt work--thumbs up to SLP---i will have one on my 2009 Smurf blue X:eek::D:face-icon-small-hap

What if you get SLP's pipe and run RK-Teks head? I want the pipe, but I want RK's head. What about an HPS can on the end of that SLP pipe:eek: I guess I need to order one and try for my self. Don't tell the SLP boys what I'm up to;)

Yeah, I already have the RKT head. Kelsey is very stern in the fact that he wants peeps to use the stock exhaust. Personally, I don't ever want to use the stock can again. Why spend all of this money to get more hp and then keep the heavy stock can? I guess I'll look at my budget and see what I can afford. Maybe put in a call to SLP tomorrow.

As far as running the HPS can, I can't imagine that it'll match that well with the SLP pipe because of their design with all three components. I guess, just try it and see.

Correct-PJ--you might loose a extra 3 # and also loose some of the HP gains with the HPS can--who knows unless you have a $10,000 Dyno-i'll stick to the SLP set up

I don't like the way SLP's can sound. The HPS sounds swell;throaty, but not obnoxious. Plus, i don't know if SLP's cans have gotten smaller, but the one on my buddies '06 REV is huge. it takes up a lot of space that "fresh" air should get. That being said, i know i'm not as smart as those fella's, so i'll be on my way...............................................

I stopped in on Thursday and asked about buying just the pipe and using my HPS can. They will sell the pipe separate but will not guarantee anything on set up. I am going to sell my HPS and do the complete head, pipe, can SLP set up just so that it is right. HPS can does rock though.

Any can buyers???

I am sending them my jugs to have them do some work on them though, I don't know exactly what they are doing though..........

Keep us posted, this could get better.

Really, YOUR jugs???

Yeah, I took off the cylinders and am sending them in with my local dealers. I guess they are going to make it breath better or something, idk.
