Slight misfire 3-5000 rpm

Anyone have a slight misfire off the bottom? Mine was doing it all day. Almost ran a little ‘ratty’ for lack of a better word from the old carb days. Cleaned up and ran fine after 5500 or so

2022 850 with 300 miles on it

My 22' sled has had this same problem since new. Sputters and tries to die in the 4200-4700 range, and when you are working the throttle in the mid-range (like in tight trees) it falls on it's face for a split second before taking off. I thought it was just part of break-in (first Polaris) and running rich, but it hasn't come out of it over the 700 miles I now have on it. I've tried new plugs, cleaned plug caps, and adjusted belt deflection... no change. Runs best in ethanol mode running non-ethanol fuel. Runs smooth as can be at higher RPMs, but will only hold about 7900rpm at WOT. Been like this since day one which is super frustrating. After reading a bunch of stuff on here I kinda want to try new coil and caps, but it seems that may set me back nearly $400.

Interesting. Mine not quite thst bad just seems ti have a bit of a miss.

I’m gunna look over the plug wires and blow out the caps. See what happens. New plugs last ride so doesn’t seem to be that

Did you check your throttle? Getting wide open throttle?
The cables stretch and most are not set for wide open throttle from the factory.

Sounds more like a lean bog. Ethanol mode adds fuel, making it run richer with regular gas.

Had the injectors checked? Cleaned and flow tested?
Had the tps set?

Lean and rich both feel the same. 2t are hard to get a good plug read with the oil on the plug and many read it as rich since the oil turns them black.
Either way it'll stumble and then take off as the mixture cleans up.

Blew out the plug caps. Was shocked how much dust came out. New plugs (EYA’s). Seems to be running fine.

It still sounds weird in that RPM range. Almost like popping popcorn noises. Really strange. Might be a slight miss. Rode my buddies 21 850. Sounds the same way.

Maybe this just how 850’s are?

I did the same and had the same results, couldnt believe how dirty the caps were. I only notice it when im on and off the throttle a lot.
