My 22' sled has had this same problem since new. Sputters and tries to die in the 4200-4700 range, and when you are working the throttle in the mid-range (like in tight trees) it falls on it's face for a split second before taking off. I thought it was just part of break-in (first Polaris) and running rich, but it hasn't come out of it over the 700 miles I now have on it. I've tried new plugs, cleaned plug caps, and adjusted belt deflection... no change. Runs best in ethanol mode running non-ethanol fuel. Runs smooth as can be at higher RPMs, but will only hold about 7900rpm at WOT. Been like this since day one which is super frustrating. After reading a bunch of stuff on here I kinda want to try new coil and caps, but it seems that may set me back nearly $400.
