Sledding on the island??

Been thinking of moving to vancouver island...
But curious if theres sledding on the island, or if a guy has to go into pemberton??

mtn washington up in the comox valley. I was hoping to gt over there this winter for some riding.

is there areas open to sledding at mt washington, or just the ski hill. ANy body on here from van island?

Their is riding on island, very very technical getting into the good areas though. Shoot me a pm if your ever out this way.

you sled the back side of mount washington witch is awesome. there is sayward and couple more spots right near campbell river

I rode mostly at mt adrian, it was high enough to get into some serious country. They get a lot of snow but it can be heavy. The ride into Adrian can be a bit challenging for newbies but pretty easy once the trail is set.

I hear there is more riding further north to campbell river but I am not sure if there are clubs or marked trails.

There is a good club and lots of guys willing to show you around.

Getting closer

Can you drop into Jutland yet??, thinking about going tomorrow, can hardly wait to try the new sled out.

Couple of guys have gone up to jutland, but I don't think they made it past the cabin up there. Still need a bit more snow to get down through the trees. We have another dump coming tomorrow night. Should be sick! Yesterday it was over the hood all day. Silly. By next weekend, we should be able to do more off trail. It's nice just to get out even if it is only on trail with 3feet of fresh!!

Mt. Adrian

Lots of snow at the lower cabin, tons up top.
The gate is not manned so you have to contact the club to hook up with a member with a key to get through the gate but well worth the hassle.
What's the conditions a Mclauglin? Anybody riding up there?
