Ok, guys, with the avy death on Sunday up above Farmington this thought once more crosses my mind so I'm sharing it with you.
I hear stories of people losing their lives on holidays and think about how that must be for family left behind to think that "dad died on Christmas" or whatever each year. So a couple of years ago I stopped riding on holiday days... they actual day. No, I don't plan on dying, but I just don't want to have my family remember what should be a nice, happy holiday of some sort as the day I died if something bad did happen.
Take it for what it's worth, but you all might want to think about it too. I had a friend growing up who's dad was killed on Thanksgiving day. He hated Thanksgiving every year after that.
These days I've just decided that I'll spend the holiday day with the family and ride a different day.
