Sled repair in Denver or surrounding area?

Anyone have some good advise on a good shop in or around Denver that still has pretty quick turn around? I hit a rock last week and ripped out my a-arm, bent my shock back and twisted the whole bulk-head. I put a new shock back on but the sled just doesn't ride right. I'll try Xtreme performance but I'm thinking they are pretty backed up by now. I still want to get some good riding in this year, any suggestions?

DO NOT take it to RPM Motorsports. It took them three weeks to get my sled back to me and I had all the parts shipped to them (granted it was delayed a little while due to insurance paying for it.) They claimed that all the parts were on back order. When I finally got it back from RPM rode it that afternoon and took out the front end again. Did the job myself the second time and did a lot better job. You have to pull the motor though, which really sucks! When you hit stuff with one ski it twists the whole front-end, takes out the flying nun and the bulk head. I recommend doing it yourself if you can or try Felker in Loveland. I took lots of pics to help with the reassembly.

I am curious how much it cost you in parts to repair your sled skidoojohncsu? I have a sled that is in similar condition that is at the dealers getting evaluated.

Take it to Extreme! They do an amazing job & they are fast. They are only out a week or two currently. My bro just had his clutches done there.

The two major parts are the S & E module, which will cost about $400 and are two separate pieces. I only bent the bottom a-arm, so an a-arm $120 and the bushings $10. Second time I also bent a shock as well, but bought a set on ebay for $200. Lastly was the bottom ball-joint $35 and lots of bolts and rivets roughly $50. Since the shop did the repairs the first time I didn't have to pull the motor and cut out/drill out all those bigs rivets. Skidoo recommended replacing them big rivets with bolts. Took me roughly 10 hrs and took my time fixing it. I also did a bit of reinforcing on the E module so when it happens next time it only takes out the S module (I hope) and not the E module too. So, total cost about $800 depending on whether you need a shock or not. Insurance paid for it the first time except for my $100 deductible, but took them three weeks to get everything settled, total cost $2600. Second time I was only out a day of riding.

Yah they're just great! Took my sled to them twice for updates and both times they said nothing was wrong. Went to Felker and they did both updates and replaced all my blown belts. Use Xtreme only if you bought the sled from them.

Same goes for Felker. If he follows my advice and asks for a certain tech at Xtreme, he'll be fine, just fine.

My Xp has had all of the updates and over 600 miles later, NO PROBLEMS and ONE BELT!

bad news

I took my sled to Xtreme, the new location in Longmont. They said it is going to be totalled. Apparently the A-arms on the 05 to 07 sleds are too strong and instead of taking the hit it pulls the whole bulk-head out of whack. So I'm hoping to get some money for the totalled sled and talk the wifey into letting me get an xp. Wish me luck. Oh, and thanks for all the advice.

That sucks! Some guys drill a hole in the A-arms so they bend when hit with extreme force!

While I like Xtreme, if you are mechanically inclined, you might look at fixing it yourself. Xtreme is probably being honest in that by the time you pay the labor to repair the sled, you would be ahead for it to be totaled.

Faulkers...

My brother got completely ripped off there. They did the work, the sled still does not run right, and they missed a few important things, which ended up costing him more money. I have heard good things about them but after experiencing that through him, I won't be going there.

I agree that if you fixed it yourself it will save you a whole lot of green. It would probably cost about a grand and 10 or so hours of manual labor, but you will most likely not know the difference when you're done. Labor alone on a job like this would cost at least $1500. Hell I need a summer project, pay me $1500 and I'll buy the parts and fix it for you. I've already done three this year. When you have all the right tools, its not that bad of a job.
