Sled Hi Lift Jack

Logger, thanks for the update... Have fun.

Tud, I say we invite both manufacturers to a jack off...:pound:

Seriously, this is my first jack and it hasn't even seen snow yet. Anyway, in regards to customer service, I was very pleased with Powderjack. I want to give them credit on that front. One of my riding partners has the "other" jack so I will be interested to compare construction, and more importantly, capability.

Have a great week. Stay safe.

What has been your customer service experience with them?

The quality of one is abundantly clear when placed side by side. I suggest you be real nice to your riding buddy...cause when yours breaks your going to be borrowing his! :tape2:

Tud,

For us old guys, customer service begins with the sale; so far so good.

I just hope your wrong about my need for my buddies gear! He takes great pleasure in such things...

On a serious note though, how many powderjacks have you seen go bad in the field?

Safe riding.

I have only seen a few and those failed before the year was up...the pole seems to be the weak link.

What I have seen is people buying a lesser quality jack only to buy Bill's later. I have never heard of anyone going from Bill's to another company though.

Customer Service? :face-icon-small-con

What doo you expect from them?
You want them to come help dig you out too? :face-icon-small-dis

I sure kant complain - he dug me out.

My Ontario equipped machine doesn't doo quite as well in Col. :face-icon-small-blu

Classic Wild Bill! I'm not sure who's happier in that situation, the guy he is getting unstuck, or Bill showing off his creation.

A Jack OFF!!!

:pound:I totally agree!!! Bill would win the jack off hands down ( or would that be hands up and down! ) Nothin compares to the original period. Cant wait to get some snow so I can start using mine again:laugh:

I have had a highjacker for 3+ years , & it gets used! 6 to 9 times a trip in the deep stuff with two sleds. nothing stops ya when you can get unstuck so easy! It's a little spendy but my back tells me it's money well spent! luv it, use it!

Stay away from the Powderjack. It says it is rated for 500 lbs, we used it twice and there were huge gouges in the pole. They were so bad that we could not even get the jack back down. Their customer service is great though, we sent it back and they refunded us our money with no questions asked.

How heavey are the good ones? Do they stick out past the end of tunnel on a 154?

Bill Harmon Highlift jack

The shipping weight on Bill's jack ( the good one) is 9lbs.
There is a lot of extra hardware in there, depending on the sled,

The overall length is 6 feet, not a problem if the jack sticks out.
On a 162 it is flush with bumper.

Give it a try, will not know the jack is even on your sled.
Until you need it.

Bill has his mounted on a 146.

I have the original jack and love it. On the third season with no issues. Another rider in our group bought one of the knockoffs and it lasted one use. The pole gouged up the first time, the lift mechanism bent and bounded up and wouldn't move. Then it fell off the sled on the way back so he couldnt return it. I wouldn't trust the knockoffs at all.

Bills unit has a tether in case it falls off.

Sticking out the back is no issue.

Just the fact that Bill PACKS one of these on HIS sled is a testiment to their werth if you knew Bill at all!

If there is one thing that AINT on his sled - is ANYTHING that doesn't HAVE to be! This includes seats as well as liquid cooling! (depending on the yr for the cooling)

Here's a pic of mine mounted on the back-up sled a cpl yrs ago for a last minute trip north. Sled is '86 (?) with a 151 under it. :face-icon-small-win

The snow was terribly heavy from a big / late snowstorm. Trees down everywhere and some we just couldn't git around w/o sticking it. There were a cpl of fishermen unloading the same time as us. They should have been 15 minutes behind us, but they weren't born yesterday. OH NO! They gave us plenty of time to git ahead and open up all the down trees so they could just pass by in comfort. They never cought up to us. :brokenheart:

That was the last trip for that little sled tho... Towed out about 100 klicks. :tape2:

Tell it like it is

I would also agree with this statement that "the customer service is great" however I am on my third one now and it really does NOT work well. The first one busted after the first time I used it. The second one lasted a bit longer (maybe 4 or 5 uses) but the pole bent, the handle also bent and it would go down but not retract. I LOVE the concept as I ride a heavy sled but unless you are riding a super lightweight sled...I do not recommend the powderjack.

thank you,

Very good of you to give us your evaluation. You have surely made it clear.

Just so you know Bill made sure his jack would pick up the RX1,

I thank you for you honesty, and I know Bill will appreciate your comments.
