Anyone able to help in the coming days?

What chopper service operates in the area? Cost?

Terry

* Please PM me ASAP as I'd like to help my buddy get his sled off the mtn. Due to his serious injuries, I'm trying to coordinate.

Texted you the number for the chopper in Darrington...

Sorry to hear about your day :(

Unfortunately, I don't think the recovery is going to be very fast or at all comfortable. Essentially two broken ankles.

Thanks Herb for the info.

Terry

Let me know what/when you need Terry and I can help.

Snobi Wan, it was not too far from the bridge by the bathrooms, sounded like he was messing around near the edge of the creek and fell down into it.

They didn't ever meet up with me at the pre-arranged spot, and apparently his radio didn't have enough power/range, because I never heard them calling me. Tried calling them several times but didn't get through...

Wow!! That's quite a drop. Thanks for that,..and hope your friend is on his way..Slowly what I hear..to a full recovery!

Thanks for the help on this guys. I made the mistake of being over confident and now I'm paying the price.
For the guys that are helping recover the sled owe you big time. This is a great community with great people involved.
I am Currently at Harbor View in seattle with both bones broken on my left leg by the ankle and my right ankle shattered. I am waiting for surgery to repair the damage.
I can't tell how great a job Rokrig did of staying calm and helping me get off the moutain. He also has taken care of the recovery of the sled and has been a great friend to me. I have only met the guy two times before this but he has been an amazing person. Thank you Jerry for the person you are.

Sorry to hear, that is going to be a long road ahead. I did the same thing to my ankles, motocross when I was 18/22, only I did them ONE at a time. Not sure how old you are now, but I am 41 and the bad one hurts every day. I had another surgery on it a year and a half ago to try to take some of the pain out, it made it worse. Anyway, long story to make a point: Take the recovery seriously, do whatever it takes to make them as strong as you can. (Some Dr.s swear glucosamine won't help a joint, others recommend it, for example.) Do the research, take care of them.
Heal them up good and strong!
Chris

Twas no need for chopper. Snowmoherb, Yamasexual and Paul joined me this afternoon for some diggin and pullin. Got the sled out and up to the main trail just after 4pm today. Thank goodness for the power of the turbo'd 4 stroke.

Good crew, fairly quick recovery, some laughs and new friends!

Now on with the pics...

Recovery

Hope you make a full & quick recovery lifekicksass! As for the sled its going to need some surgery also. I gotta say the polaris tows pretty easy. I've never met you but when I do you better have a couple extra cold ones for me.

Ha Ha

Haha.... Funny Funny Flakey. My yamaha was the anchor when we pulled it out of the creek bed. Then it pulled it all the way to the trucks w/o getting stuck!:face-icon-small-win

Recovering

Lifekicksass or ROKRIG

Just wondering if there is an update on how the surgery went? What did the doc say about recovery time & how pissed is the girlfriend or wife or both:face-icon-small-win being they have to do all the "work"(that's sex for all the people that can't follow along). I hope all is going well with the recovery so far!

Side note I mite be interested in a slightly bent up Pro if you know of one.:thumb:

I visited Brent on Tuesday. He's in great spirits and because he was in pretty good shape physically, this hasn't taken nearly the toll on him that others may have experienced. Regardless, he's definitely got months of recovery and rehabilitation ahead. I know he wants to ride next season so I'm guessing he'll use that as a motivator to get his joints and muscles working again as soon as possible.

Here is the post surgery pictures.

It should be noted that this occurred while heading up the moutain. This was not a "hey watch this" wreck. We were just heading up the moutain to ride and I made a wrong choice on the route I took.

Be safe out there and be prepared for things like this to happen. Have your life and affairs in order to deal with this. I am looking at 6 months min in a wheel chair and extensive medical bills. However I have prepared for events like this in my life and I won't have to worry about anything except recovery.

Stay safe.
