Sled decks

Sled Decks are great if you live in the snow. Trailers are a pain when they are parked and get snowed in. The bed of my truck never fills with snow, and I just sweep the snow off the sled deck anywhere but my small driveway. The only problem is that I don't use the deck very much because I just roop out the back door 95% of the time.

Thought I would post pics of my home built deck..

I built this years ago so pardon the rust..

Another thumbs up for Silverlake MFG, Mike will answer your questions and get you a nice product for a great price, payed 2k for my beavertail.

So I just built a sled deck using an old 2 place trailer. It is looking good, with a pullout lower area for plastic tubs, but my question is how do you guys load the sleds with the hoist that Snowcatter has a photo of? I built a 10' ramp but still have time to add a hoist if it is a good idea. Where do you hook the sled? Looks like it would work slick if sled is down. Anybody have photos showing loading with a hoist?

I use a nylon strap tied arount the steering hoop near the base of the handlebars. I can post a pic next time I load one. Maybe this weekend if some snow flies around here!!

What did you make the slide out section out of? I am planning on building a deck also and would like to get all the ideas i can before i start building. Any pictures would be great.

I would suggest any one of Silverlake's Sled Decks. He also a has 2' ramp extention for those out there with tall trucks. The plain deck is simple and lightwieght. I can load it with little help from my wife and tie it down in about 5 minutes. Xtreme Powersports has both styles in stock. Give them a call at 509-826-5771

While being rather new to snowmobiles, I am amazed what some people will do to avoid a simple trailer.

I was intriqued so I started looking. At first i thought I was retarded and looking at the prices in Canadan or something. $2000.00 for a sled deck! Holy Chit.

I have less the $600.00 in this trailer with a manual tilt and a new spare. Oh yeah its $18 to register a year

I guess I'm just not understanding this ?

MINNESOTA to MONTANA I DONT THINK SO!!!!

Haven't seen any of these decks with a tank in back. I have a tank that is plummed right into my tank of my truck. Would be a pain to remove for the sled deck. Opinions? Thanks.

My buddy just finished up this one, 8'3" wide 8'6" long (actual deck not including beaver tail) final weight is about 300 LBS with 8'6" ramp and tie downs. He said if there was enough interest he might be willing to make a few more and sell them, cost would be about 2k depending on exactly what you want.
