Sled decks

Can someone please let me know who makes the sled deck for loading two mountain sleds on the bed of the pickup? I prefer the models that are self retracting.

Heres mine, I love it! It's not self retracting, but boom hoist style.

There are pro's and con's to both (ramp vs hyd) so do your reserch carefully.
Some of the determining factors include.
Weight of load determines size of truck.(most important)
Confidence in loading on deck.
Requirements for under deck storage
Ease of removal during the season if required.
Features you want.
Last but not least COST! we all want Fillet but some times all we can afford is round steak.

I have built almost every version you could imagine and they all ultimatley do the same job.

While being rather new to snowmobiles, I am amazed what some people will do to avoid a simple trailer.

I was intriqued so I started looking. At first i thought I was retarded and looking at the prices in Canadan or something. $2000.00 for a sled deck! Holy Chit.

I have less the $600.00 in this trailer with a manual tilt and a new spare. Oh yeah its $18 to register a year

I guess I'm just not understanding this ?

Most of the places we go,you can't get to with a trailer and even if they are covered they get slimed so bad from road salt and grime you don't want to ride them.:beer;Deck is the only answer for the Mountains.

The reason I am inquiring about the deck is for the exact reason that "farwest" posted above. So much easier and sometimes the only option in the mountains.

I've got a Silver Lake Manufacturing with slide in sides so when I only haul one sled or not hauling any sleds it slides in so its not hanging out a foot on either side of my bed. Not an auto retract but works good and gets the sleds to the hill.

And for Rprecision the deck allows us to go way up high on the logging roads in the spring where we almost can't even turn the truck around and ride, and with it and my small trailer I can haul 4 sleds without having to take my BIG trailer (which I would really rather not do!)

I use and sell the Marathon decks on the east coast (New England area). Love mine, used it all of last year and worked out well. All I had to do for this year was restain the deck. Mounts in the bed on 4 legs and has a 10' pull out ramp that stows in 6'. Plenty of room under the deck for storage.
Let me know if you're interested....$2950

You'll understand it the first time you try and turn that trailer around in a cramped parking lot, and then try to scrape the road grime off your sleds.

Allright I can see the use in that. But seriously $2500-3000+ Ouch

I hunt alot of unacessable BLM and National Forests in the winter. I can see how dragging a trailer around in tight places can be challenging.

As for getting the machine all grimed up, I always cover it up if the conditions are wet. A $20 tarp goes along way.

I was't trying to pick on you guys it is a slick idea. Just a expensive one. I guess I'm just cheap. When you consider everthing in my above picture is around $2700:eek:

Silver Lake built mine as well, but custom to my specifications for the hoist I built myself. He is a great guy to deal with . . located about twenty mins from my house.

Spendy but really convenient ...

That is a SAWEET set-up snowcatter!

I really like my deck ... retractable sides is the best for me since I solo to the mountains often. They are the only way to go when unloading way up in the hills ... anyone fought with getting turned around at Mt. Baker way up the road will vouch for that ;) As far as them being pricey, is there anything in this sport that's not expensive? As for brand, I can't remember what the name of the outfit was in BC that produced mine, but they quit making them to go work/weld on oil rigs ... more money in that gig than decks I'm sure. I'll probably never pull a sled trailer again ... just not worth the hassle.
