sled deck owners

Absolutely love my deck. It's home made but the sides slide in and out. two piece ramp that's steel so it's heavy but once I loaded a sled once or twice I got the hang of it otherwise not one other complaint. Being used in a half ton with bags right now and it works great! Photo of it in my 2500 Diesel!

Check out Amerideck. Its a powered lift so you load sleds a foot off the ground then a hydraulic arm picks up the deck with the sleds attached and loads them on top of your truck bed. I have had mine for 5 years now and it works awesome. Bolts in the bed of the truck with 2 bolts. After your ride you can drop the deck with the snowmachines clamped to the deck and simply remove 2 pins, lower the arm and drive away.

I run a silverlake deck on the back of my dodge. Superclamps make it quick and easy on the front then a strap across the back skid.
TRICKS I USE
Clip a peice of track on the ground in front of the ramp. You can idle all the way up. You don't have to take a run at the ramp.
Build a box for under the deck to keep your stuff it will free up space in your cab and give you a place to toss wet gear at the end of the day.

Got any pics of the box you built?

I, by far, prefer my enclosed trailer. NO Covers, Place to change & dry out after riding. Ride em' in and go. LOVE IT!
Totally agree!!!!
I had a sled deck. All the cons listed above are a pita.
Then went to a flatbed, much better than sled deck.
Just bought a small enclosed 7' wide low deck 2 place stagger load. Makes loading unloading effortless. The whole rear end door is the ramp, almost like driving on flat ground. No front drive off either just hit reverse and back out. One door, one ramp, no covers (sleds still get hammered with road crap on deck and flatbed) sleds are wedged in pretty tight put brake on and done!! Literally seconds to load and unload. Sleds perfectly clean upon arrival. Yeah, you're pulling a trailer but I wouldn't go back if you paid me.

I have a single sled deck on a 1/2 ton chevy. Its a regular cab so when towing a single trailer with a second sled we have somewhere to put our gear. Cons? Ramp is annoying by yourself but quite managable if your creative, falling off side while putting on cover is a risk, and can see headache rack through rearview mirror. These complaints are minor compared to towing and storing a double wide open trailer.

After 40 plus trips using my Toyup on my old 95 f150 this season I'll never go back to an enclosed trailer. I've used it to haul everything from my ATV and sleds to my Mnt bike when the seasons crossover. Got a lot of thumbs up in the Mnt bike lot the other day while hauling the bike and a sled, LOL. Once you get used to the deck there arn't many cons IMO. Yes, they get a little dirty at times but a run by a car wash and your good to go. Superclamps and the gripper superglides are a must. If your not hauling more than 2 people/sleds everytime you ride then a deck is the way to go.
