Sled deck on 09 F150

Not really your still limited by the GAWR which is the limit of the axles. When ford or anyone else builds a pickup especially half tons they figure a large percentage of owners will use it mostly for just driving or a much smaller load then the maximum rating. So they configure the tires and suspension to be able to carry the max load but for optimum ride when empty or small loads. By doing these changes your just optimizing it for the higher end of its rating but you will loose some ride quality while empty.

if i get airbags i am assuming i need to install a compressor and such. whats a reputable company or airbag kit that i could check out. how much does it cost to do airbags. limited funds so not sure what would be better to go with the deck, some toyo mt's with siped and studded for winter use or stock tires and airbags.

You can do just airbags and then you just use a regular tire connection to fill them. Works good if your not constantly adjusting on my 07 that I just used them mostly when I pulled my trailer I did it that way. On my 08 field pickup were I use it a lot I did the compressor. My whole setup is from Firestone.

I have the Firestone kit kit in my 08 chevy along with the compressor and single gauge. I would highly recommend getting the compressor. A few of my friends have them without and it's a PIA to adjust the air all the the time. With the compressor you can play with the air while driving so whether you're empty, have a sled in the bed, or towing a 4-place, you can always be sure to get the pressure right. I got everything from Summit Racing.

does the airbags constantly need to be adjust if u are not running compressor? or can u find the ideal pressure and just set it and forget it. 300 bucks is much less than i expected but i bet the compressor might be pricy

no. They should hold pressure for a long time. have to change depending on if you are carying sleds or not thogh for sure,

I haven't been using mine for the past month and its held at a steady 7psi the whole time. If your just gonna use it for an occasional load and don't mind stopping at a gas station or having a compressor at home when you start the trip you won't miss the compressor IMO. I like having the compressor for when I'm picking up 2000# totes every other day I can crank it up to 60psi while I'm waiting for them to load me and drop it after I unload.
