Sled deck for a 07 Toyota Tundra?

Hey thats my truck.. Good thing you posted it I almost missed the thread.. We used the deck on the tundra all year without a hitch.. I put airbags on it away she went...

One thing to consider is that your truck may weigh more than the tag says. My Duramax weighs in at 7500# with me in it. ( leaving 1700# payload)

The fun police will weigh your truck, not take out all your junk and weigh that. Better know what the truck weighs before you worry about adding up all the stuff you throw in.

I'd throw one sled in a 1/4, maybe 2 on a 1/2 - with a few upgrades. But opinions are rarely a concern when you get scaled.

The wheel and axle bearings are still smaller, its not an issue of it being able to have the power to haul the load, or enough spring to hold it up without draggin tail. Bigger tires and big load on a little truck... kinda sketchy.

Here's some pics.

And Tundra still can't haul or tow as much as a 150. You would think with all the "beef" you talk about it would be a different story?

Your joking right?
Toyota claims 10,000lbs towing
It has a 6 speed with 381hp.
I do believe it got 1st in class for towing.
Sorry RJ but the F150 is one of the weekest trucks in it's category as far as towing just because the body is so beefy and heavy and they kept the same ol 4.7 motor to handle it.
Not bashing cause I was going to buy an F150....until I drove a Tundy.

I don't know the exact numbers but I think Ford is claming about 11,000lbs towing and 3000lbs payload on the few F150, which I don't believe. 3000lbs in the bed of a STOCK half ton and the bumper will be on the ground, and stoping would be scary

I see that last Toyota has a BC plate, that fancy deck just for one sled? Or do you gamble that DOT doesn't send you home? Unless your 2 80lbs girls in the truck with almost no gear, that thing ain't legal

Which model are the numbers for? If it's like a 2wd regular cab, the ratings are obviously higher. Does anyone remember when the F150's tow rating was upped? Right after the new Tundra and Sierra's came out, not when something on the truck changed....hmm. Those F150 motor choices aren't particularily quick empty, let alone with 11,000lbs

On the subject of Toyota axle and diff strength.....

Have fun delivering pizza in your Ranger low-income-housing mobile....driving the crappiest truck built kinda excludes you from this discussion.

really? so it sucks getting great mpg, not having it broke down and actually being able to put stuff in the back? i really hate doing all that cause i had the nissan and toyota experience already and this ford is a hell of a lot better. so what kinda truck do you own?

No offence Jay... but a video of a 1200 horse Supra has nothing to do with payload, or the stress that it puts on the axles, bearings, brakes and springs. My bike runs in the 10's, my GT in the 11's, and neither would haul an extra 1600 pounds+ of weight.

To make it simple, if you're happy with a Ranger and believe it a better pickup than a Tundra, hell a Tacoma....nothing I say will have relevence for you. How many Tundras/Tacomas vs Fords have you driven? Today, I drove a Dakota, Tacoma, Tundra, and a Sierra....and it was a slow day. Last night I drove an FJ through a snowstorm over 2 of the gnarliest mountain passes in Canada for 6 hours. I have my opinions based on driving hundreds, possibly thousands of different vehicles, so the opinion of a 16 y/o in Manitoba who just likes to brand bash is of very little value. Thanks for playing tho.

Coxy....I realize that, I thought it was cool regardless, as there's not another 8.0x clutch shifted car out there with more stock componentry than the Supras. The central point remains, if you don't believe Toyota makes tough drivetrain stuff, simply ask a Toyota service manager how many rear ends and wheel bearings he replaces in a year compared to any of the big 3....I'm VERY confident of the answer. Buy whatever colour you like, but to think it's all the same is very far from the truth....

for the price i paid brand new, options, and warranty i came out ahead on this. toyota wasnt even close in the price market.

No arguement there, Rangers are a lot cheaper than Tacomas. No mystery tho, when you haven't changed much outside of a grille since 1993, the price comes down ;) Look at your resale compared to Tacoma resale, however, and much if not all of your price advantage dissapears. Factor in roughly twice as many brake jobs, front end work, persistant check engine lights, faulty airbag sensors, soft Ranger clutches that like to go in 60K, well, the story changes. But ya, if you want a 20K new truck with 0% financing and a year's supply of cocktail weiners or whatever the local Ford circus' deal of the month is....Toyota doesn't really play that game. I hope you were smart enough to lease it....
