Sled Alarm

Just installed one of these on my sled. Alarm sounds if the hood is opened, the ignition is switched to on, or if the trailer is tilted. Install was easy. Anyone tried one of these? No excuse not to lock it to the trailer, but it might get someones attention or make a thief fill his shorts.

With the rash of thefts people have reported lately, this might be a popular item! It amazes me the brazen way some thieves will come right into your yard when you are home and steal from you. At least this way you'd hear it in progress and maybe do something about it.

sounds like a good deal how much did it cost?

$100.00 for the unit, $10 for the contact switch for the hood. I noticed that JC Whitney has contact switches and mercury switches for even less.

I'll keep ya updated on how it works.

Security system for your truck and toys

this allso may help,l got a deal on some wireliss motion sensors,l put one under the handel bars on a couple around the area of the sled, l have tried everyway possible to take my sled without setting off the alarm could not do it in the house,it can either turn on lights in your room, so they don't know that you know they are there.it is a very cheap system that can all so by fitted with cameras and best of all it's portable, you can take it with you, when you come sledding in Sicamous BC l sell the systems up here but l could line you up with them down in the States, if you are interested in finding out more about them,give me a shout.

So far this thing works great. The good news is I haven't had anyone test it. Spent 4 days in Steamboat Springs, CO and nobody came near the sleds even once while parked outside the hotel. Maybe some of our North of the border friends could try it out and let us know if it is a deterant.
