SKS weight

anybody have a good guess or actual weight on a snow check sks with 2.6 track and no e start? the weight listed on the website is for the in season sled with e start.

thanks

2.6" track is 4 lbs lighter than the peak 2.25 and the e start is 22 lbs lighter counting the battery, starter, and wheel on the clutch. 442 - 26 is 416 lbs which I would believe.

408 vs 416 = 8 lbs difference from pro rmk

I think the SKS could actually weigh in at 443# without the electric start. According to other sites that have specs, they list 443# for the SKS and have no mention of electric start. Now add an the extra front cooler, heavier shocks, and a chain case, I could see it right up there.

Pro RMK 155 with a 2.6" is 408#
Pro RMK 155 with a 3" is 421#
Pro RMK 163 with a 2.6" is 413#
Pro RMK 163 with a 3" is 426#

I think the SKS comes with e start standard so should be included in weight.

this^^

the website lists the weight for the in season sks which has e-start and different track standard (2.4 I believe).

so the extra weight comes from the e-start and all the associated components, chain case, 4 bogie wheels, aluminum over structure, front cooler, track, and steel driveshaft.

i would get clicker shocks, 2.6” track so that is a wash.
no e-start, get rid of bogie wheels.

sounds like that would be within 10 lbs of a standard pro.

my buddy’s sks is way easier to ride and feels much lighter than my pro. it also feels the same as the 163” axys pro I rode today. my buddy checked his sks, so no e-start. he removed all the bogie wheels and has a light weight can

I stand corrected, I did locate that the E.S. does come with the SKS standard and is included in the weight listed.

From what I've come across, it seems that you can account 17# for electric start.

443 minus 17 = 426

Which I could see makes sense as you also have to account for a standard rear bumper ?? not a Pro RMK carbon, Steel drive shaft, aluminum over structure, front cooler, chain case and heavier shocks.

my buddy’s sks has an aluminum rear bumper (same design) as the carbon one. and his also came with the solid snow flap, i think it is the same one that comes on the 3” track sleds

An SKS, without starter, and a 2.6" track would probably be a "push" for weight with 155, 3"-Lug AXYS ProRmk.
... as it has less rubber but has a cooler and coolant... both have a chain-case.

So in the 420's

Has anyone weighed a pro axys 155 3" track or 2.6" track full of fluids yet? When you compare a snow checked sks with no estart and 2.6 track there's not a whole lot of difference between the 2. SKS 4 boogies, front cooler, aluminum over structure, piggy back shocks and steel drive shaft. There was a post where someone weighed the steel shaft and the aluminum shaft with the collar on it and there was very minimal weight difference.

We weighed a pro at the same time. It had the tunnelbag and handlebarbag, otherwise stock and full of fluids: 509lbs

E-start weight

I have a standard SKS, so 443 with the 2.4 track and e-start.
I removed the e-start and I weight it on a scale(minus the ring gear) and it weight 26 lbs. So the Sks is 217 lbs with the 2.4 track.

This may be a stupid question but why does the SKS have a chain case and not a belt drive? In what circumstances would the chain case be the better choice?? I just find it strange the sled comes with a 2.4 inch lug track and a chaincase while the pro rmk has a 2.6 and belt drive..

i don’t know. good question.
when mine arrives, I am doing a tki belt drive conversion right away.

so minus the ring gear and the bogie wheels, i am betting right around 412-413 with the 2.6 track.

5 lbs from the aluminum bumper, over structure, non-ported snow flap, bulkhead cooler and extra coolant. is that reasonable?
