YEEEHAW!!!! got it, and it is KILLER!!!!

Stiffens up the tunnel, will definitely add strength!!!

Kit comes with the bumper (which includes the powdercoated black pieces you see), tunnel cap piece (which allows the extension of the tunnel), and the brackets which attach the boards to the tunnel...they come in natural but can be powdercoated if you want (just a little extra)

Here is the project...

And here it is installed...hard to see the top piece on the top of tunnel, but will allow you to lengthen the tunnel by about 6" (will MORE than fit the 162 extension, dont knwo about 174")

CONGRATS to Skinz for seeing the market and reacting quickly...this all came from us chatting about this two or so weeks ago... If you want one...shoot Jeff an email here is email address... Jeff@skinzprotectivegear.com

Will try and answer any questions I can...

Price? Compatibility with Timbersled brackets looks like it will be fine...

If I'm right, that particular sled isn't your main sled? You putting this on yours?

this is the test sled...My kit is enroute...yes, I will be putting it on my sled...and yes, it is universal with all drop brackets...

Looks pretty sweet! Looked through their website and couldn't find a description or price, any ideas on price?

You're bound to have a heckuva year with your modded Nytro.....can't wait for the pix!

it is HOT off the CNC machine...no time to get it on website yet...have strongly encouraged him to have the whole kit under $200...

yeah she should be kinda fun year as long as we get snow, and work does not keep me in non snow areas :) as my sled wont fit as carry-on on the plane...

i like the idea but (there's always a but, isnt there?) someone needs to come up with something better to tie the end of the boards to the tunnel for strength. something like a rear foot rest like on the summits. skidoo made an accy add on rear rest, something like that, to cleanly tie to the running board and tunnel, and would stiffen the tunnel, and boards, to make the kit more secure and functional. just my .02. thanks for helping with this MT. must be awesome to work with the vendors like that. ski

hmm maybe I didnt explain well enough...that is exactly what the angled brackets will do...they are pointed out below...

IMO, it's ugly. Looks well crafted but doesn't lookk like it belongs on the sled. To each his own though

guess i didnt explain what i am looking for. the brackets you have just look (how can i say it without being mean?) oops, we forgot to tie the board to the tunnel, let put this strap there.

i am personnally looking more for a closure panel, a triangle plate to block the end of the board, and securely tie the board to the tunnel and give it that "finished look". the thin empty bracket really does nothing for me. ski

skidooboyedk, have you see the BDX protype for the Nytro or just look the BDX one for the Arctic Cats to get the idea of the Nytro protype one, you might like that one better.

I see your point here. This could be easily fixed by SPG....I think the black color makes the kit stand out more as an "add on" piece rather than an integral part. However, you bring up a good point with the tie in on the back of the boards. I would like to see a continuation of the board and outer "piping" in a tapered incline up to the top of the tunnel, something like a 40-45 degree angle (maybe steeper...)

doo offered a kit for a while for the revs for a summit rear foothold. it was a nice add on accy for the renegades that saw alot of steep and deep duty. i just cant find a pic of the wifes gade to post what i am talking about. ski

There's some Yamaha accessory footholds in the genuine acc'y catalog....maybe a tie-in between the tunnel, boards, bumper, and footholds work well.....

For 300 beans:eek: I"ll make my own!!!!!

Yeah, didn't see the price when I looked before...that's quite a lot, surely a design similar to that can be incorporated into the Skinz bumper and not double the price...

Guys I'm not trying to steal this thread I just thought i'd post some pictures of what I did. This kit happen's to be Monster Max's but you could do this on any kit. The pictures are just so you can see what i'm talkin about. Just cut you gripper rails long enough and bend them up and in towards the tunnel. It help's to have a buddy help. My buddy Leroy help bend them in and then I drilled the holes and rivet them in. Once they are bent in drill through the rail and through the tunnel side and bolt to the side of the tunnel. My buddy Monster Max made the angled piece to bolt through the tunnel. This way everything goes in a striaght line. Hope this helps you guy's out. It really helped to make the boards strong.

who said $300

when I chatted with him, suggested under $200...

I thought he was suggesting the Yamaha acc'y footholds were $300....gonna look into it.

Ok, just looked it up, this makes much more sense....the footholds are $80. I like that idea for the extra runner strength.
