Skinz bumpers look like crap

I just got in my skinz front and rear bumper and wow do they look terrible they didn't even take the time to grind down the welds to give them a nice smooth clean look. The front bumper had big round gobs of weld on the front of it just put together half assed. I'm gonna grind down all the welds and get them powdercoated again don't even wanna put them on my brand sled looking like they do. For what a guy pays for these bumpers should look a hell of a lot better than they do!

That is exactly why I will only run a bumper that is welded like this

How come you don't post picture of front bumper if its got gobs of weld all over on it. And you still haven't answered the question of whether you have contacted skins. I'm no welder but I don't see the issue

I already smoothed it out myself before receving the rear bumper hoping it would look better than the front. Yes I did contact skinz have not recieved a response yet.

ive been waiting over a year for them to get back to me and i am a motorsports dealer. sent them back a broken rear bumper with delivery confer. to make sure they received it too.. horrible customer service..

Skinz

Contact the dealer you purchased them from. They should be the ones working with Skinz if you have complaint about the quality of product.

I find it funny when guys come on the forums and rip aftermarket companies (not just Skinz) any of them about fit/function, quality, price or delivery time frames and claim that they can do it better and cheaper. If that's the case then prove it to us. Make a better product for less money. I've worked in multiple machine shops for 10 years and I currently work in sales for the metal working industry and most people have no idea the amount of money it takes to purchase the equipment need to produce these parts on the volumes they, let alone finding someone who's worth a **** to make the products.

Personally I see nothing wrong with the bumper in the pictures but that's me. I run multiple Skinz products on my sled and have always been very happy with them.

Anyway sorry about the rant, just my 2 cents not that anyone cares. :face-icon-small-ton

Yeah I thought it was going to be worse by your description.
But with that said, think it would bug me too!
These new sleds are just too pretty before their maiden voyage!!!

Hmm interesting thoughts.

B&M fab seems to make better products and sell them for less........
It must not be possible though....

they have a basic problem with the areas they are welding, when you weld a pointed seam like this its difficult to get the "line" of the angle to stay straight, thus the thing looks all crooked, as you can see whoever welded this thing had used very poor heat control and ended up with the seam at different heights looking crooked ect ect.... ( not to mention other issues with the weld) quick and dirty fix is weld the crap out of it and grind off the excess to produce a nice seam, but really the answer is get a really good guy welding them up, seams should look like this :

B&M Fab does make nice product and competition in the aftermarket is great because we the consumers benefit from it. I'm waiting on them to develop the safer foot well hoop for the PRO and will be ordering it when its ready.

As for the selling them for less..... when you add the powder coating costs to the B & M items the running boards are about the same price and the bumpers cost more compared to Skinz.
