I've tried the stock parabolics, new M-series skis, Gen I Simmons, PPD X-TR's, C&A's and Powder Pros.
Stock(Parabolic) - Unless the rear of the parabloic was trimmed off, no nevermind, I just wouldn't run em.
Stock(M-Series style) - Improvement, still not positive steering and twitchy I found.
Simmons - Worked extremely well, actually really liked the ski but was too heavy and steering effort made my 420lbs sled feel 600lbs in the springtime.
PPD's - Lightweight and light steering, floated well and held a great sidehill(comparable to Simmons) but had absolutely no bite on the trail. Could be that I don't run carbides on any sled I own)
C&A's - Didn't float like I was used to(Simmons) and seemed to hit more objects hidden under the snow. Sidehill was good, but not what I was used to(Simmons again) and the ultimate trail ski. Some think they dart too much but I like the aggressive feel on the trail as I do ride quite fast and hard on the trail.
Definately a PP rider myself. Love the ski in all conditions other than springtime trails(which is easy to adjust(mounting location) however I swap the PP's for my C&A's in the spring simply because I feel the C&A's are a lot more progressive feeling in the spring type snow. And in the Powder the C&A's don't float as well nor do they hold a sidehill as neutral as the PP's. My sled is pretty light and the C&A's are too aggressive come powder, but perfect for the spring.
If I was in your position, I'd run the PP's and play with mounting location to find what suits you better.
