xp vibration.
take any 2 cylinder snowmobile engine, and set it on the work bench, and really think about how it will vibrate.
It vibrates a LOT more up and down in line with the pistons then it vibrages forward and backward perpendicular to the pistons.
As the pistons go up nad down, the engine vibrates back and forth the opposite way.
So what you ask??
Now mount the engine in the chassis, and look at how the belt is lined up with the engine. The 05 900 poo had the belt in line with the pistons, the xp has the belt in line with the pistons.
What this means is that you have two choices. You either put a hard rubber stop to limit motor movement, or you let the engine wiggle a little pu and down. Put hard stop in, your feet go numb as you are fighing the primary vibration directly.
Leave the stop a little soft, and the engine moves around as the belt is pulled, exceeding the friction coefficient of belt/sheeve. Cure for this is less steep ramp for harder grip, which causes more heat anyway.
XP's are gonna eat belts. Poo moved the jackshaft to cure the issue. I'm a little puzzled what doo is gonna do to fix the issue.
