Ski Stance on alpha?

What is everyone running? I am at full narrow and I am struggling with my hardcore.

Mine is a 154 with an elevate kit. First ride was centered and second ride i moved it to narrow because that is where my 165 was set at. Really struggling with it. Super fun but struggling making it go where i want. Super quick reacting. It is like an out of control ball bearing or weeble wobble. Almost too easy. Anything that easy can also go the other way and work against you. A completely different sled than my stock 19 165. Went down a narrow drifted in road or trail breaking trail today. You could feel it wobbling back and forth like the track was round. Might have to center back up and go up a hole in front but didn't really want anymore ski pressure.

This is exactly how I feel but I am still stock. Does track tension make a difference?

Maybe but i doubt it. What track length? Elevate kit gets it up out of snow which is a win but that is what has changed things for me.

Was told by dealer that most people like the center setting. The narrowest setting can be to tippy. I have mine on the center, but might try the skinny to see if it makes a difference. Btw it handles awesome in the pow centered, just curious if it gets better.

I found at the centered spot was the best setting. The full narrow was too much as previously mentioned by many others . Centered is still quite tippy but still easy to control.

Mine is centered (165) and is definitely responsive , kick the front clickers up to stiff (all the way clockwise )and it will make it more predictable!!

Update. I added .75 inches of preload to rts and I put the skis back in the middle position We have a little snow at home so I took it up the back road. It didn’t feel nearly as spastic. I think we are making progress. Thanks for the help.

I haven't played with ski stance but when I first got the sled I had to learn how to ride the alpha. I've ridden many sleds over the years and came off a pro rmk and an xm. I found it very twitchy at first, couldn't keep it straight and when climbing its like being on a rail literally, had a few times I was laying on my side. I was used to riding the other sleds where you do need to input more weight and effort to do the same things.

Now after a good few trips out having half decent snow im no longer like that, I can break trail and climb and go where I want predictably. When I let a friend hop on the sled they often roll it immediately due to being used to inputting so much weight transfer....

My suggestion is to leave it centered and ride the sled if it's new to you. Takes time!

At the end of my day riding I feel so much better, not so sacked and tired and have been riding back to back not feeling too bad at all! Love it.

That is my problem right now. On a 19 new to me 165 Alpha and was hating it the first day. The second day I was figuring it out and was falling in love with it. The first day I sacked my shoulders and had arm pump from just trying to ride it. Second day was a lot smoother. There is a learning curve, once you figure it out, then the fun really begins!

Keep the skis centered. You want the carbide centered under the spindle because of how the skis camber when turning. If you want a more/less tippy overall sled feel then do it with the shock pressures and dials you will be much happier.

Drop the rear skid to the lower hole.
Its a free mod and u can easily change it back while ur still on the mountain.
Do it and report back.

glad to hear and yeah it's Totally different animal due to the mono. I find its all in the feet now, just lean and put more weight on one foot than the other will suffice for a lot of sidehilling in the soft stuff otherwise it can be easy to over do it. I do get over on one side with both feet still when I'm going along a long hill in the trees, adjusting the weight from standing near the rear to up front, Works well with shocks on clicker 1.

Update. The changes made a world of difference. I don’t think I will post it craigslist now. I still hate the skis. The daughter might lose the Mohawks on the 16.
