19 tooth

Changed mine to a 19T last night in about 45 minutes. If you turn your sled on its side you do not even need to drain the gear oil.

I just picked up an 09 xp x 163 and was curious what the stock set up in that was? I ran an 08 last year with rail extensions to a 163 from a 154 originally. It had a 19 tooth in that and it ran hard, would it be worth my time doing the same to my 09? Most of my riding i do is in the trees boondocking and hill climbs. Let me know what you think thanks!

163's come with 21/49. You can drop to a 20 or go to a 51 on the bottom if you want to gear down.....the 51 is preferable with less dogleg in the chain.

Do you recommend gearing the down the 163's from stock 21/49 set up for boondocking and hillclimbs? now my buddies are all running the same sled as me just lookin to get a little more edge in our group! :beer;

Assuming you have stock clutching, if it's a '08 gear down, if it's a '09 or newer leave it stock gearing.
