exactly same thing happened to me 10 years ago, I rode a 98 summit and it sucked so bad I went back to my old Elan, way better machine.... yeah right what a tool!!!:(

now guys people can smoke up the cheap stuff and pick forum fights if they want to, he should have done it on the poo page and got better results though.

A riding buddy of mine bought a new light and powerful 800 doo this year–and man that thing pulls when it's working.

Unfortunately he's not riding much because of a belt problem and now the crank case is Xucked.

I'm sure this is what Vern7483 is referring to.

Smoking the good stuff and riding pow with my Cat...

why do you guys even respond let alone get worked up over a thread started like this??

rented a xp today and the thing just fell apart. i plan on going back to my 02 mt cat 800....WAYYY better sled

DETAILS, MORON!!!

I have an 08 XP. I just bought it less than a month ago and it runs great! I did pull the cord on the 166 belt. Dealer GAVE me 2 of the new belts and I have 300 miles on and no problems. Had some burbling and cutting out at WOT, but we figured out that I was over-revving in Clicker #1, dealer added weight and problem solved. I still have my driveshaft and the dealer checked that out too. Other than the scratches he said the sled was in great shape. No major problems here.

DETAILS, MORON!!!

There ain't any, he's just fishing......maybe he got his azz handed to him by a new XP and this is his revenge.

Time to move on guys, the XP has a few problems, nothing that the other manufacturers haven't had. Yeah belts burnt, yeah driveshafts need to be welded. But let's stop beating a dead horse, the thing rips and it rips hard!

Its like posting in the Yamaha forum with a thread titled: "Apex weighs a ton - going back to my 1978 Arctic Cat 340 Panther becuz its lighter - air cooled with a 116" track, no suspension and 3.5 gallon fuel tank", yeah the Yammies are heavy compared to other sleds, THAT'S BEEN ESTABLISHED!!!!!!!!!! and you can overcome that problem, just like you can overcome the XP's flaws. Maybe this rental XP was a POS becuz the 60 guys that rode it b4 him thrashed the sh!t out of it? Just a thought....
