Ski-doo fixed the XP so you can ride it in the mtns now!

Good news for all you Doo boys. I see in the latest Snowest they got the suspension and attack angle changed so you can carve with this sled now. Good deal I bet those trails were getting pretty boaring.:Dbeer;:beer;

Seriously though I truely doubt Doo's reasoning. This taken straight from article.

"The end result is not only more travel but more pressure at the front of the rails which ski doo claims, allows an easier transition to sidehilling and /or laying the sled down in deep powder. It makes sense because if you have less trak on the snow with a steeper track angle, you can pull the machine up and hold it there more easily"

I say the less track you have on the ground the higher the ski preasure is going to be and the more stabil it would make it.

It's really very simple and really a no brainer as to why the XP feels like it does in the mountains! AND it's NOT the attack angle of the track!:eek:

The 16" wide track is one of the reasons and the sway bar is another and the "aggressive/rider forward" position for the rider is a big one and the angle of the steering post another and the stock ski's another and the shock valving yet another and the shape of the belly pan and the handle bars and the low location of the motor... and the list goes on and on!:rolleyes:

It IS a great stable platform that climbs great in deep powder!:)

It IS NOT a technical freestyle mountain sled that tips over easy and turns on a dime type of sled!:D

I like how cat has a mountain sled and a flat lander sled. I can only hope Ski-Doo will do the same in the near future instead of long tracking there flat landers. I have no problems with my XP but love the way a Cat rides in the trees. Oh Well guess I will buy a cat for the next purchase.

why is that doo pulling that polaris in reverse???:confused:. you should tell him to turn around it would be easier. cuz theres no way that polaris is pulling a doo. not even on flat ground lol

Funny you say that, not only is my poo pulling it, but it is the 600 pulling the 800 home....

Don't tell me you don't think a Cat could pull it either, I have proof of that one too!

I tryed the 09 XP for the first time when I was in Utah this winter and must say it felt like a 2X4" to ride through the pow, it climbed the slopes but only in a strait line if you didn't use all your power to tilt it over for carving. But when we loosened the sway bar the sled was ridable like the D707RMK that I got. Therefor it'll be fun to try the changes on the 10 models

Hook up that 1M 900, it could pull both of them at once!

the chassis geometry of the xp is all wrong. i mean the xp will do what you want it to do but it takes MUCH more effort than iq/m sleds. i'd like to ride the 10 model xp to see if the changes they made actually worked or not.
