Ski Doo Demo Ride?

First they had them remove the banners from the cross country parking area, understandable:face-icon-small-con, I guess. Then asked to look at the permits, they all seemed to be in order, so then it came down to sleds not having Washington tags on them, he was searching to find something to remove them from the lot, he's always been a Dick. I asked this years guide what they did wrong, he said all their papers were in order.:noidea:

Even though the snow sucked ballz, visablity was worse, was still a good ride.
Great people to ride with, I think the GUIDE, ( if you want to call him that, ) Randy was the real guide for the day (Thanks Randy) was surprised with the conditions as well. SLOPPY
I like the new XM, but felt they were a little under powered compared to my '11, but I have Rooster's clutching, which has been spot on since I put it in!!

They sure do react pretty darn fast, very easy in down hill turns, LOVE the new mod to the footwell, post is slighty more forward which I also liked a lot.

Never felt the added weight of the electric start, that was nice, but I am getting older and lazy.

I think for the money, I might look into the T-motion kit for my '11, beats 12k in my book.

Smitty

Smitty, nice to meet you and good to ride with you, and thanks for the help on my stuck,:hail: I might have been there for a while. The 163 augers nice but when it trenches, wow it goes deep, and with that wet snow maybe 200 lbs of slop:yield: on the skid. I really like the XM but, since I'm throwing a new engine in my 08, I'm with you, try the T motion maybe a flex track, give that a try. And ya that electric start was nice, Lets get together after our mods and compare notes:face-icon-small-win

FWIW, I think the Flex edge track, front spindles and skis are the best part of the long list of XM mods. I think the T motion is the least and it has drawbacks for better riders and steeper sidehills. We are having some washout issues on the steep sidehills. Of all the mods I think the Flex Edge track is the one to do on an XP and the one I would do by itself first to see how dramatic the change is. If you like you XP(I did) and want to make it better that is the biggest bang for the buck and one mod you won't regret spending the money on. I am going to try and put my Evo Air set up from my 12 XP under the XM and see what happens. Ski Doo sells that track for a good price too and I90 had them in stock last time I checked. One is going on my Yami Tnytro soon.

Unless you are ready to buy one the day after the demo ride, my advice is DON'T DO IT. You'll hate getting back on your old iron.

Ski-doo cost me an arm and a leg this year by putting out such a great sled.

I should have listened. All I have thought about since then is how I'm going to get one. Wife has agreed that If I sell my current sled and she gets a dog then I get a doo. If you guys know anybody interested in a phazer, mine's for sale:face-icon-small-ton

I definitely wasn't kidding.

I snochecked an XM, and my wife was still going to ride her 2010 etec 600, her favorite sled ever. She didn't want an 800, worried about having too much power, and she loved her 600 with it's upgraded boards, a wrap, etc. First day out this year, with about 6-8" of new, I let her take my sled for a spin. After one lap around a meadow we were playing in (and she was ripping it up) she got off and with this meloncoly look on her face we traded back. That didn't last long. She rode my new XM that day more than me. We called Frank from I-90 on the drive home and we literally drove directly there to get her one, 1/2 hour before they closed for the X-Mas holiday.

Moral of the story, sell both of those phazers and get two XMs. You didn't heed my advice the first time, don't make that mistake twice!

Selling both was originally the plan. My wife is fairly new to riding and is nowhere near being able to outride the phazer. I figure I'll get a 2013 and then when she feels she's ready to upgrade we'll look into it but I don't want to put her on something I know she's not ready for. Might end up snow checking for next year depending on if I get the phazer sold.

All SP's, huh? Despite not being the best shocks out there, the X packages's make it handle even better. I'm surprised they didn't have some of both.

I wouldn't have believed there was that much of a difference until I rode our X back to back against our SP. With the same shock settings the X is definitely easier to manuever. I think the shocks are simply softer on the X and only the most subtle shift it weight will get it carving.

lancerlot23, is that u upsidedown? I have a scheduled ride this sunday on belwett, anything I need to take besides my suit & helmet? Can friends ride along?

Bring your drivers license, helmet, and gear, they will supply you with beacon and avypack. Friends won't be able to ride with you, you're riding the XM, they won't be able to go where you can.:face-icon-small-win
