Ski-Doo and Polaris must be doing something right

This season I'm surprised by all the brand new sleds I am seeing in the parking lot, seems to be more than in years past. The other thing I've noticed is the lack of new Arctic Cats, just tons and tons of Polaris and Ski-Doo's. In fact I actually can recall only seeing two proclimbs so far this season. I'm not trying to bash Arctic Cat just stating an observation but has anyone else seen this trend?

I'm also seeing a lot of new sleds on the snow this year. Much fewer M's than years past. Tons of Poo Pro's out there.

I am sure it has to do with all the marketing on the New XM from Ski-doo and the flickable Pro-RMK. I think with the belt issues that Arctic cat had last year, it turned a few people off. I am guessing with the Drive axle this year there will be a few less POO's in the parking lot next season. Yamaha hasn't put out a mountain sled in a few years. I heard it could be this year HeHe like we did last year at this time and the year before and then year before that. You have to go to the midwest trail heads to see new yamaha's with power steering and heated seats HeHe.

Marketing definitely plays a huge roll. Look at the riders who have made big switches to these brands in the last two years. Look for the other two manufacturers to make huge advances in the coming seasons to try and level out the playing field. Yamaha for one has put huge focus on the RMSHA circuit and signing racers this year. Check out a couple of our riders profiles on there page, Taylor Dyess and Chris Brown!

I haven't seen any more new sleds than usual. The majority of the new ones I have seen have been Proclimbs though. Where I ride it use to be a Skidoo only show, with an occasional Polaris. Now the Cat's are getting thick.

I have noticed that pros are everywhere, eapecially at the end of a tow rope! I didn't see many new cats last year, but have seen a ton this year, and I have only noticed a handful of xms. I think marketing has a lot to do with it as well, and flickable is a much more catchy word than reliable is! That word has lured a lot of people to the pro side

I like reliable better. I ride Cat. Never let me down. I do see lots of Poo's though. Them dang things are everywhere. I do think many, not all who have bought Poo have done so partly because of marketing. They want to be seen as an Extreme rider.

I think brand marketing has played a huge roll this year and it might just be coincidence that I haven't seen as many Cats. As for Yamaha I can't really comment because I have seen very few people ride them ever.

Around the cascades it's tons of pros, and then Doos. Not many new cats, barely any yamis. Could be marketing, could be product, but I know one major thing that's playing into the reduction in cats around here. Where there was five cat dealers there now is one. And they are new and not anywhere close to where I live or ride. Being a cat dealer must be a thankless job as few survive. I think the factory treats them like chit, and when things got hard, the dealers were pinched even harder. Seems like the Cat thing to do. Their corporate mentality is prideful and egotistic in my dealings with them. They lost all their sponsored mountain riders too, which was likely a good source of R&D.

personally i think alot of us are just tired of mods.:jaw:
sleds depreciate bad enough, then try and sell a
good running sled w/ 10k in extras and if you find a
buyer its for a whole let less than it should be.

sleds are getting so good now, i would rather just
run a new sled mostly stock for 2 yr. and then get
a new one.

btw this XM is nice:bounce:

It's because they leave the lots early to get the good stuff.
