Ski Doo 2005 1000 vs. 800 Summit

I am just wondering. I have found a 20005 1000 163" with low miles for about the same cost as a 800 151". If the updates have been done is this a good sled? I am MN and I have run a 151" for the last 3 years around here in the ditches and have had no problems. So thinking it would be ok with a 163 - just need to be carefull like I have with jumping and things like that. But for the same price I can get a bigger motor a longer track instead of an 800. Just wondering for the guys who have these sleds do they like them and how do they compare to an 800. Thanks.

honestly, if setup right, the RT will highmark the 800, but the RT's have plenty of issues, i have one. for your area i think your better off staying with the shorter. the bigger sled is fun, but its gonna suck a lot more in MN then the 800, just way more sled than you need to ditch bang.

I agree with the weight issue. The draw for me is the sled has 900 miles on it and is the same cost as 800's for the same year. The dealer has a 06 800 151" (not sure about miles) for $1000 more (have a certain $ amount that I want to spend - on a budget). Living in MN it is a little more difficult to find a mountain sled. I just don't want to drive out to Idaho or Utah to get a sled. But I also don't want to get something that I will not be completely happy with. Thanks.
