Ski Dolly Type for Transport

Snowbikers, what do you use on the Ski to move the snowbike around in the garage and to load it on concrete etc? The timbersled kit is sweet but way to expensive I can use the $450 on allot of other items vs a set of dolly's? I was looking at building a cheap one with some $10 Wheels but wondering what is working so I do not have reinvent the wheel!

The Timbersled kit is nice. When I first started riding snowbikes I built a ski dolly from an old roller skate I bought at the thrift store, mounted the trucks to a piece of 2x4 and made some straps to secure it. Worked great, Its still around here somewhere.

I made my own kit front and back for about $70 with some cheap wheels and scrap metal. Works great, but I need to rethink my design to accomodate the new 10" ski.

Ya! lol…. They are a little expensive but they are made of the best parts available and that is what we want to be known for. But what I have seen that works very well and is cheap is to make a similar design as ours with these ingredients. Anyone can make a set cheep and easily.

· Wood for the frame (2x4)
· 6” to 8” od lawnmower style wheels with ½” id
· ½”-20 All-rod for the threw axels (use nuts and washers on each side of the wood to space it properly with enough hanging out to do the same for the wheels and to fit the width of the ski) (use nylock nuts for the wheels because you cannot tighten them on a wheel with no bearing
· For the track use all-rod and wheels with nuts on both sides holding the wheels in place. Make it wide enough so the track is an accurate fit between the nut holding the wheels.

Allen, No offense as your design is for being used on the trail to cross rocky/dirt sections but what I was referring to was moving around on the pavement and in garage etc. Thanks for being understanding.
