Many major forums other than Snowest (not even sled related) are totally free access, why is it that Snowest went this route? Other sites cover the IT costs via advertising and site sponsors. Interesting that they can't make that work here. I'm not talking small sites, but large traffic sites similar to this that run off their own equipment.
Or is the forum possibly a source of additional revenue?
Really, why not use that advantage to cover the IT costs, keep more members here vs losing them, and keep that advantage from the higher number of members.
I'm out....never to pay! I didn't offer much to the site anyhow....so not to big of loss.

SnoWest is easily in the top 100 online communities in terms of total traffic and posts, thus the resources needed to keep the site floating are significant.
