Question to other listeners...
I don't feel that the audio quality is on par with digital media or even FM radio.
Anyone agree?
Or think I'm crazy?

I have it at my shop and in my car, don't really notice it in the shop but it's pretty loud. When I am listening to a cd in my car and then switch over Sirius WOW I start wondering if someone messed with all my sound settings. All I can think is ugh this sounds terrible...

Thanks!
It's good to hear someone else notices it too.
To me, it sounds like a worn out or dirty cassette tape.
My hearing may be sh!t, but I want my music crystal clear.

I would agree also but with this note:

I got a new to me truck last week and the XM sounds tons better in that then it did on my old stand alone unit that was wired direct into the last truck. To me it always sounds better on the rigs with the factory XM built in then it did on the add on radios.

I see a lot of people gripe about XM audio quality in their vehicles on another forum I'm on (f150forum.com). Some guys have dropped the service because of it. Sure, I've noticed it, but I like having the variety over the same local stations I hear at work all day long.

And having music in areas with no local stations is a plus too!

Lawrence Welk not coming in so good?
My new car came with Sirius free for six months. I can't say I noticed a difference but I did not renew it. It's not worth it to me anyway. I use the stock radio, my iPhone, Pandora, and iHeart radio. All free. Another thing I do which is not free is I download Car Talk and listen to them on long trips. $.02

I have a couple stretches on my drive to the cabin that none of these work. And at the cabin none of these work as we don't have enough cell coverage to stream music (which is part of the reason I love the location of the cabin).I also have a ton of music loaded on my iphone but that seems to get old at times too. But with XM it's perfect music the entire way. Plus I can listen to any games from the cabin so that works out nice also.

I can't go without it on 12 hr drives to the mountain. I have no gripes about the sound quality in my 16 gmc 3500.

Yeah the factory radios with factory tunes seem to sound much better than an aftermarket. My wife has it in her Land Rover and it sounds as good as any. The aftermarket tuner in my truck is meh.

Not to blow your theory, but mine is the factory ford /Sony receiver.

Those who echoed my dissatisfaction, do you have factory installed or aftermarket?

Crazy Mafesto. I can't believe that the quality is worse than your FM. We live in AK and there isn't **** for radio stations. Which is why I love my Sirius. I too am curious though how many others are having similar issues with the factory tuner.

If you knew me, my stereos (including professional dj pa system), you'd understand that I do perceive audio quality extremely well.
It's not a very valuable sense to possess, but I do appreciate it! :face-icon-small-win

I don't argue that many think the XM quality is flawless, for them it may very well be.

Different receivers?
Different areas of country?
Different plans?

Many potential variables that might contribute.

Just heard today that for a little while it's free, so if you have a radio or box that the subscription is up turn it on and crank it up!

Quality in my stock equipped F150 seems poor compared to CDs and my MP3 player. Quality seems better in our shop.

Same; factory MFT/Sony in my F-150. Most of my local FM stations have better quality, imo.
