i made one like that 70 $ one ,, almost exactly

after 2 seasons living with it i did feal some of its shortcomings

last year i made another but simpler , and i think in application the design is easier to live with and im sure we will start seeing them in this format soon. honestly ,, i dig this way better than my previous build

basicly its a hinged ramp but shorter. drive up em and flip ramps up , off ya go

i need a snowbank to get on it , but those are easy to come by. after wrestling with ramp lengths and higher CG, i compremised with shorter ramps ,, but accepting that i need to use a small 2 foot or so snowbank or something ,, using a shorter ramp length allowed me to use the bed of the truck as my base / cg.

attributes
lighter
lower CG loaded
less materials used ( cheeper)

great pics papabyrd,

I may just go that route. what did materials cost you? any shortcomings that you can think of from the traditional type deck.
Are you in the lowermainland?

thanks

This is dumb,
Why do you need a sleddeck for one sled, just put the f-in sled in the back of your truck, do you just want to put more wieght in the back of your truck. And Papabyrd, are you a f-in moron you don't know how to down size pics. what an f-in eye sore.

think its more of a "how do i get my sled in the truck" question .. at least for me it was.. the platform is just a nessisty so you can slide the ramps under it.

i built mine for cheep and the second version was built mostly from the first :P. i might build a new version even smaller / less material than the 2nd.

Well, if you have a flat driveway, with no snowbanks, and you want to load it by yourself....sure is a lot easier with a deck + ramp combo...

Why so angry, is your vagina bleeding around this time?

physco,
I'm not angry, just physco. YEEE HAAAW! just bustin chops buddy. I still don't think you need a deck for a single sled. just a ramp, but at the snow park there is always a hill to back up too.

Mr Loudisstupid, I need a deck to be above my fenders because my sled won't fit between them. I need to raise above them and will also have ramp storage under it.

If you knew anything about a Tacoma you wouldn't need to flame a guy
A sled does'nt fit between the wheel wells of a taco

So my town is littered with Tacomas with XP's out back.

Here are a few more I've spotted around. If your building custom take a peak at the 05+ And new Tacoma deck. Really cool pull out ramp!

Tacomas with XP's rule!

Covey Built single sled deck

This is the single deck that i have recently designed for Covey Built. In normal width pick-up the deck lays down between the wheel wells with the tail gate down. In the tacoma the deck would sit up above the wheel wells with a box frame under the deck. Hince " THE TACO DECK".
The standard short box single deck starts at $1650 + box frame for the tacoma.
Check out the standard short box deck here http://coveybuilt.com/?p=142

Single Place sled deck

You may want to checkout a thread in the trailer transport section, the add is by Hiensco out of Woodinville Wa. 600.00 bucks clean and lightweight.

OK...

Which MFG's have any available??

There is certainly a demand for them.

Who makes this Deck?? (Name, location, email, phone)

Thanks

Here's mine...for a smaller truck like a Tacoma, he builds the same deck with an aluminum platform underneath to clear the wheel wells. Works good, comes with all the runners, plywood, etc, etc....just put it in with turnbuckles and/or straps and you're good to go. I paid $950 a couple years ago...pretty fair I think.

Bought it from Jack @ Alfab in Nelson BC, give him a call. 250-352-0575

Nelson is only 2.5 hours north of Spokane....good riding here too, so if you need one of these, come up once it snows and tie it in with a ride.
