Silver Lake Sled Decks?

I currently run one of the flat beds. I live not too far from the Sliverlake headquaters so I've had a chance to see their fabrication 1st hand as well as know MANY people that run their decks and flat beds. I started with a deck years ago and loved it (ESPECIALLY the expandable sides feature!) but always wanted a flat bed. Once Silverlake got up and running with their flatbeds I was one of the first inline and have already stepped into version 2 of the flatbed with boxes and everything.

The welds are top notch, the materials he uses for slides are nothing but the best and his design suits the needs of a sled deck (or flatbed!) flawlessly!!

If you have any other questions feel free to ask me or head over to the Spokane thread in the Idaho section as I know there are MANY users of his sled decks on that thread!

I have a silverlake sled deck, not adjustable sides, the solid one with a beavertail and I absolutely love the thing... it is built VERY well and the welds are very smooth - you can tell the guy welding knows what he is doing. I have no complaints and no regrets buying Silverlake, definitely nice stuff!:face-icon-small-hap

Anyone running a silver lake sled deck? How is it holding up? Looking at the expandable side one for a long box.
Thanks for the info :bolt:

I've had the expandable side version for 3 years now. It's the 2010 model with the telescoping ramp and the smooth extruded aluminum sides. I would definately recommend it and would replace it with the same if I had/have to in the future.

Since my truck is lifted, I had to modify the ramp a little with a cut-off wheel due to the angle of the ramp so I could remove it easier after loading a sled. Not a big deal at all.

The only tidbit I could offer would be the telescoping ramp can be a little tricky to hook up and put away by yourself. It's much easier with 2 people. If Mike still has the option of the 2 piece ramp, I might elect to go with that as it is much easier to facilitate by yourself.

Yup, I have the two piece ramp...and I like it that way. :)

Interesting ramp discussion... mine just has an 8 ft single piece ramp - It works great and it's built good, but is a little intimidating as it's a bit steep loading onto my 1-ton.
