Silber Dobek to boondocker control box

So how hard would it be to switch the Dobek box on Silber kit to a boondocker fuel control box on Silber kit? What would it take?
The Dobek boxes my buddies have don't hold up or work worth a crap(moisture in box, bad mapping, etc.)
Not starting a bash fest just want to know what it would take.
Thanks

I hear ya... Not to sure on the pro's. The iq's u eliminate the fuel pressure system. The boondocker runs more off vacuum. I would've switched this year but I got my 3.25 box dialed pretty good. I am waiting patiently to see how these standalone ecu turn out.

Patiently being the key word........hurry up and wait!

It gonna cost u 6 to 7 bills, u can sell your dobek box an 1to1 reg. if u want to do the switch, talk to snow jw. Or code red performance. He is familiar with wut u have for a setup.

i would also be interested in the switch. very dissappointed with my silber setup, workman ship and all that was top notch but the electronics side is a complete dissappointment iv had nothing but trouble. sucks big time when i drive 1400km each way for a sled trip to get out there and my fuel controller to act up and not do what its suppost to. deffinately would not purchase from silber for my next sled

Found out all it takes is $618 for Boondocker control box and new wire harness and 1/8 tap into air box or charge tube for boost signal. Or u can go up and beyond and install ebc with tps smart for $399 and get rid of the crap boost gauge that comes with silber kit. I'll be doing my buddies this week so I'll report back on install and improved performance(bottom end). If it works like I think it will there will be many in line to make the change over

If it works out sign me up lol. if you can make a list after after your done the install of what was all needed and final cost that would be great. If this system works out i think your right there will be a mile long line up of people doing the switch. need something to work im done with my dobek controller its going in the trash

Sorry for the change of subject but how come no one has used the Power Commander on a turbo sled. They are one of the best controllers on the market and they have the boost feature. I have heard of complaints about the dobeck boxes and the boondocker ones also so that raised the question about a PCV.

fyi

it will plug in and work but the sled will run like chit. if any of you are close to washington pm me and i will put on a little clinic for you to learn how to work your box there is not a boondocker sled out there that will touch one of the sleds i have put together

what do you do differently that we cant? not trying to be rude. im not bashing the technology behind the dobek boxes but there reliability and issues. iv never had mine work flawlessly once. iv siliconed it, sealed it the best i can but still starts acting up after about an hour after i head out. ya it works good for the first bit than craps the bed after an hour of riding? everytime iv rode it works good than eventually the boost sensor in the box just decides to stop working till i defrost the box. id really like to be able to ride for more than a hour at a time. thats why i am looking at an alternative. great technology just have to make it work on a sled thats in harsh conditions surrounded by snow and water

sled

i agree the silber runs awesome , just the box does not last, also the boondocker has a cooler ,simpler box and can see max rpm and boost much easier

I haven't read from you yet to my knowledge. For someone who has had nothing but problems you think the manufacture of the "ELECTRONIC DISAPPOINTMENT" would've heard. If you want help you can call me anytime. These are the same boxes that are used on Etec turbos by aerocharger and by MPI with all the Yamaha Nytros. They are using the same circuit, the same enclosure, tested the same way. The only difference is the Manufacture of the sled.

If anyone needs help with their controllers my number is all over the forums. I help numerous people out...but i can't help if you don't call. Anyone is invite to stop by out shop if they are in area. Dobeck has an Open door policy.

I will run a box complete dunked in water tomorrow for you guys. I will post the youtube video up on this thread or start another. If you would like I will also freeze the controller in a solid block of ice if that would help. I have a controller on my sled and don't even glue the case. I rarely put a cover on my sled and trailer it to the riding area. I have split several gallons of gas on it....and still works great.

Silicone and Sealant isn't the going to fix a thing. If you have a bad box it is bad. You either have a bad controller or the solenoid that is being used to get an atmospheric zero is not flipping over. I would be more than willing to help you troubleshot this.

any help would be great. its starting to get to me that it keeps acting up. my last trip to revy it started acting up and couldnt figure it out and couldnt get a hold of justin at silber. what are your suggestions? iv heard these things are suppost to work great and make my sled flat out rip with silbers kit, but iv yet to see it first hand. iv got another trip planned and would like to get it figured out before i drive 1400km again to have the sled act up. install of the turbo kit shouldnt be an issue as justin installed it himself. Im open to any help you can offer

My box does the same thing gets wet then freezes and stops reading boost. My only suggestion is to try keep it dry under hood, pelican case, etc. The boxes aren't sealed period!!!!

keep the Dobek

The Dodek control box i have works great.. Box is very nice and woks well with siblers kit. Sorry for the guys that are down on there luck with bad control boxes. The sno4shover guy seems willing to help, thats priceless for all of us.. I have some maps that work very well if you need any clues or help just ask...

Turbo

Here goes my rant Liv4turbo:
I ride with 9 Silber turbos, 3 of which were installed by Justin himself and tuned. Another couple that were tuned by Justin. None of which have close to the bottom end as my boondocker has(ask them). 3 turbos burned up, 3 motors toast, 5 Dobek boxes later and more to come. Tell them how good the Silbers r running. They do have a great top end if u ride 6 lbs of boost all day( real fun in the trees lol!). It's not my first rodeo with the Dobek. I know how it works and have tried to help them tune out dead spot in off boost rpms and it ain't happening.
So enlighten us why boondocker box won't work? Assuming you've tried one?
Post a 5 minute video unedited so we can see and hear how good sled runs, not just on a trail either, oh and maybe in some deep snow?
I'm in southern Idaho and my boondocker turbo is waiting for its azzz to b handed to it so come on down.
Justin why don't you drive from W Yellowstone to Twinfalls and follow through with what u told Silber customers and help them out! I want to see kits run perfect for everyone's sake but it just ain't happening so were going to try something new(boondocker box). This is the last shot and some of them will b removing kits and going back to stock, they just can't ride safely around bog/dead spot.
Sorry for rant
