I was in Sierra Sport and Marine the other day and they were liquidating their Polaris inventory. They will still service sleds and order aftermarket parts.

Said they didn't want to accept the new terms that Polaris was forcing on them.

Thin Air....gone

Sierra Sport and Marine....gone

That leaves just Reno Cycles and Gear for OEM Polaris parts or warranty....

Ugh....

Thin Air was 10 minutes from my house....

Sierra Sport and Marine was 45 minutes away....

DuPont is 1 hour and 45 minutes away.....FU(K!

Adrenaline is in Citrus Heights and 1 hour and 40 minutes away..... At least that is on the way to or from my other house in Santa Cruz......

You would think we are in the Alaskan bush or something.....

also theres glende in chico...

it seems like alot of dealers are calling it quits with the snow lines due to the terms the manufacturers are forcing on them! cant say I blame the dealers cause it obviously has to make sense as a business but in the end its the people running and the people these dealerships employ along with the consumer who it hurts in the end which only trickles back up to the manufacturer. Never good to hear!

Polaris has been doing this **** for years now. Colorado has the same issues with dealers going away. 3 of 4 dealers that I have bought sleds from are not selling them anymore.

I wonder what they are trying to force on them thats causing so many to stop??

I was reading somewhere but cant remember where that there was an issue about the size of inventory that shops have to keep. Some of the smaller shopes still had to carry a large inventory and then were left holding the bag if they did not sell all the units. It just wasnt worth it to them when they had a large number of hold overs when the new sled came out. Not sure if that was the issue here or not.

And Murph I have had very not so good luck with the third one you mentioned. Reno has always sucked when it comes to things like this. That is why so many people go out of state to get their toys and parts. I buy all my stuff in oregon from Michelle because the customer service sucks so bad here. And great news this year Nevada is requiring you to register your sled so they can grab all the sales tax from people who bought their sleds out of state the first time they register them here in nevada. However the overall fee went down for us to ride in Cali now which is good i guess.

Yeah, Michelle is great. I bought a lot of Yamaha stuff from her.

Bholmate-- you still riding the Nytro?...

Crazy because in the Sierra foothills there is Glende, Adrenaline, Auburn Extreme, and the trailer place whose name escapes me.... DuPont in Quincy, but no dealer in Truckee, North or South lake Tahoe....

Sonoma Cycle in Winnemucca NV is an amazing shop as well. Full polaris dealer and great people to deal with as well. Ive bought three brand new yamaha motorcycles from them. I bought my 2012 assault from sierra sport and marine due to them being closer and snowmobiles usually having more warranty issues(and I opted for the 4 yr warranty). I will definitely try Reno cycles and gear out, but just wanted to give people more options. I sonoma cycle will also deliver to reno and pick up as well.

^^^^ Sonoma Cycles is a good store. I bought a Silver Lake Sled deck from them.

But...... They are like 3.5 hours away from Alpine Meadows......

Ugh....this sucks...

Is the Lake Tahoe area anti-motorized vehicle ... and then no humans allowed on or by the earth?

At least it seems so far away.

So I just had a thought.... I might be able to help out you "POL-riders".... I work in Elko, NV and live in Oakdale, CA (about an hour south of Sac) I make the drive back and forth every other week. I may be willing to transport sleds along I-80 to Sonoma and back again for a transport fee? Any interest? There is also an Arctic Cat shop in Winnemucca... SnowStorm Sports.

Went to Michael's today to see if they could lure me into putting a deposit in a 163xm. They said no new 163s this year because of poor sales last year? What's going on up here?

"Tahoe Low Life"

Only the SkiDoo guys are in luck since Toms is still in the area. Not going to find a better or more knowledgeable dealer. Has me thinking about switching over.

I happen to know the owner of Adrenaline personally :face-icon-small-hap and know that he goes up to work on his property at Cisco Grove at least twice a week all summer long , and pretty frequently in the winter to go sledding. Just something to keep in mind for you truckee / tahoe area guys. Parts dropoffs @ Cisco can be arranged......
