Side panel dzus fastener alternative?

These dzus fasteners through Polaris are pricey and I need 3 of them. I ordered a 4 piece setup from somewhere that cost me a little less than buying 2 of just the twist pins through Polaris. I have searched looking for alternatives and there really isnt much. Other than the rubber strap kits that I have seen, is there any similar alternatives to the dzus twist pin setup? I saw a Pro at the SLC snow show that had some knob style screws that took the place of the dzus pins, but there was no information about them with the sled. I believe the Pro was a NXT LVL sled. Not for sure though.

Any body try anything different??

Anybody else see this sled at the snow show and/or have any details on the hardware used on it?

the trick is to replace the plastic washer on the back of the panel with a metal one so they never fall out. Yamaha has used these fasteners for the last 10 years and it didn't take longer to find a solution to keep from loosing them.

If you want to change them to a screw in knob that would work to. You can buy the thread clips and the knobs, most hardware stores will even have that stuff in stock. Eric

Mine actually already had the metal retaining washers on them. I bought the sled used and 2 of them were already missing and missing the clips they twist into also. I took one out to take to the hardware store to find something comparable, but wound up misplacing it somewhere. I have seen the thumb screws at the hardware store, but didnt really like the look of the ones available. Mostly because of how far away from the panel the head on them would sit.

Been thinking of replacing mine, inner clip keeps falling off. Since several riding buddies have M series I wondered about replacing them with the metal pin from Cat. Hooked on a wire to so doesn't get lost.

You have to make a bolt for the hair-pin clip to go through tho.
