SHR860 vs RK860

You guys out west must lead sheltered lives....

170hp stock bore 800r's are a dime a dozen. mild porting and a decent pipe and timing gets you to 172 ish on diamond Jims superflow at C&H.

throw the compression up to 14.1 and add Jaws twins it goes right over 180 with little effort..

Now maybe thats a little to easy as the twins require 100 motor octane to survive. but the 170's are no struggle guys..

More effort is put into recurving the ecm to alleiviate the doo limits and settings.

Lots of good engines and good tuning out there to get power out of the R engine.

but what good is 170ish when at just 3 psi boost you have more than that on the XP 800....:D

This kit is STOCK exhaust, STOCK reeds, STOCK ECM, STOCK Timing, and PUMP gas.. and is 2 years old..

Would love to see the 170HP, dime a dozen, 800R dyno sheets that run all stock components and are 2 years old... PLEASE..

Like I said.. I am way over that mark nowadays.. but if I state the real HP of the RKT 860R, it will just start more controversy...

180 with jaws pipes! Lmfao. My buddy was with greg when they dynoed the pipes so i know your full of it!

Kels, you read it wrong, I backing the fact that your engines easily make the numbers..the stock bore engine in ported trim is capable as is, gaining 60cc is bigger than it sounds..

gregs not god . his pipes on a pro stock ported std bore cylinder make well over 180 ,,,,as doo Larry's

Just goes to show the differences possible, dyno to dyno.

The few that I'm familiar with are much more conservative.

A "full show" 800R with aftermarket cylinders, twins, etc.. would stuggle to make 180

Let the dyno races and dyno highmarking begin !!!!:p:p

Bought a new zl vette,, took it to get my MONEY BACK !!!

NO DYNO SHEET !!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D

I think alot of peeps ought to really think about this post by Gus, it is very appropriate and by far the most common sense about this argument.

Johnny B, & TJamie ought to think about it more than most.

Why's that I happen to have a C6Z myself and I can pop on corvette forum any time I want and see the results from many shops around the country for free. LG motorsports is one that comes to mind first. They sell headers etc and provide dyno results for their products. Not much for me to think about they are providing information on a product they are selling.

You just don't get it sonny.

Let me splain ........,

You listening ? ...............

Take your hand out of your lap, and concentrate .............

OK, Here we go ..........

I also have a corvette, I don't need a Dyno sheet to come with it to prove to me it that does whatever Chevrolet advertises as horsepower is irrelavant ......... it outperforms all the rest, over and over and over. Just like SHR & Big Johns motors doo ............. Capiche' ?????????????

Few things I have noticed for getting bib bore info. The real #'s are scarce from the builders and real dyno sheets. BJ has never posted or shown a dyno sheet peroid! There is a guy with a majoy RKT complaint on dootalk. I don't beleive personally in the big bores I think its a joke your increasing the cyl by such a small margin the BB is doing maybe 4 hp of the work. If the BB isn't ported its a joke. There are many guys whom keep coming out of the woodwork and admit the BB's are not there like they say.

post #26 http://www.dootalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=332849&st=15&start=15

DITTO......Feel's good at the THROTTLE but not that much extra TRACK SPEED at 10,000 feet. in chest deep powder.

IMO, a well set up clutch and a head ( RKT ) and your good to go.

TWIN PIPES at high elevations are very inconsistant from one day to the next. If they truely did the job everyone in the mountains would have twin pipes installed....Just ask IdahoSlim. :D

I bought a zx that had one of SHR's 150 trail kits in it. I contacted BJ just to get info about it as I wanted to make sure it was set up right jetting and clutch wise. BJ answered all my questions and then some. He even contacted me afterwards to see how I liked it and asked if it was one of the kits that had wiseco pistons, when I told him it was he suggested that I should change them to another style as he had issues with them. He has very good customer service and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase a big bore kit from him.

Stockers whats dat Slim ?..... By the way I been hanging out in Lake Havasu latey my neighboor has a 1000 HP 34' tri-haul preditor that skips across the water at 110 mph.

With a few big chested chicks on board in does 120 with ease. Talk about a thrill Slim you would love it man.....

Wanted 175K to build a go fast boat :D

why slim? A simple question was asked! They could post it if they have them, kelsey did!

does anyone with the BB no their primary weight?? hard to beleive no one has added primary weight after a BB INSTALL, their is more to this story!!

No need to address the PRIMARY WEIGHT with a 60cc overbore most if not all of these small BB kits still peak out at 8150 rpm +/- just like a stocker.

OT

More power will ALWAYS pull more primary weight ....all else remaining equal including RPM. If you make changes and need to drop weight to maintain the same RPM you have lost power.
