Just sold my 2009 F350, CCLB XLT V10 on 37’s with 5.13 gears, ARB locker in the rear axle, 5Star tunes, and a few other odds and ends...

...And picked up a 2019 F150 CCLB Lariat 3.5 ecoboost with the Max Tow Package (3.55 gears, 36 gallon fuel tank, hill descent control, increased payload and towing capacities, etc). Nicest thing I’ve ever owned, has all the bells and whistles...heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, 360 degree camera, electric rear locker, etc. Wish the previous owner would’ve opted for tow mirrors (it has the fully loaded non tow mirrors now so swapping is easy if I can find a set for a reasonable price). Want to get a lift and some new tires and wheels before winter to get it up out of the snow a bit, front end sits really low to the ground...

Hoping I don’t regret downsizing to a 1/2 ton, have always had 1 tons in the past, all diesels before the V10, but the heaviest thing I’m towing anymore is a 5,000lb trailer and hoping this will be sufficient!

I did the tow mirror swap on my 16 F150. Expensive but worth it. I hated towing with the non-tow mirrors that came on the truck. I called all my local dealers (I live in a metro area) and they all said that I couldn't put the tow mirrors on my f150. Call Fairway Ford out of Canfield, OH and they'll tell you exactly what you need. If you can live with chrome tow mirrors and the part #'s you need are the same; I have a complete set boxed up and sitting in my garage. I had to replace the door switch for power fold and telescoping. Here's the pics of the items I needed (and have in my garage) off my 16 F150.

Thanks for the offer, I’ll look into the part numbers and see if they’re the correct ones, can the chrome be swapped out with black caps or is it not removable?

had a 2005 f350 harley, totally stock. had all of the 6.0 issues so it didnt last long. then got my 2015 f350 with a 6" lift and 37's, deleted and tuned with a 220hp tune. have since changed to a 2019 f350 on 35's also deleted with a 75hp tune. both 15/19 drag around my 38' enclosed to BC.

1979 F-150 Explorer (the toy). 400 engine with automatic transmission and 112K miles. Has Camper Special badges, but no literature suggests that ford ever offered that package in a F-150. One of the previous owners had a camper in it at one time so maybe they put the badges on themselves. If it's not a camper special it has the available handling package with dual front shocks and swaybar up front. I drive it in the spring and fall when the weather is nice. Rear main seal is leaking and a common cause of that in the 400s was worn main bearings. Have a lead on a 460 engine so it might just get a swap. Carb was rebuilt when I got the truck, but I think it's worn out beyond repair. Holley Sniper Fuel injection is on the list to replace it. Should work with the 460 swap as well.

my folks had a new 68 Ford F150 and it was a camper special... as I remember larger radiator and heavier springs...

Interesting... The Ford "internet experts" have told me "No such thing as an F150 Camper Special, last F100 Camper Special: 1967." No dual batteries, rear wiring harness, spring overloads, etc. on my truck that were typical on the F-250 and 350 camper specials. I have the swaybar and the dual shocks up front so appears to just have the front end handling package. It does seem to have a pretty good sized radiator in it though! The only way I'll really know for sure is to pay to get a detailed Marti Report on it.

they might be right... my folks truck might have been a 1966 but I do know for certain it was a F150

Yeah that's friggin' sweet. I bet your kids feel like big dogs rolling up in that thing!

Looks great. Love the 3 in a row setup for the kids sleds.

Thanks. It’s so nice not having to trailer. My parents cabin is a pretty tight rd. You have to chain up 75% of the time pulling a trailer. It feel like cheating being able to just drive up there without throwing chains on!

did similar, sold 08 F350 and bought the same truck with the same options... added air bags for towing, changed the grill, fender flairs, new wheels, tires, lifted the front end... tows faster, less fuel, stops quicker... but in the wind I slow way down as that V-6, with all of its horsepower does not have the weight of the diesel..

Also a candidate for the sled deck on a half ton thread! Lol

It honestly does just fine! ....After the airbags are pumped to 100 psi hahaha. Sold my old diesel for it, and I'm not sure if I will go back.

What kind of gas mileage do you see with the eco boost? How does it handle some mild weight? That may be my next truck when this chip shortage passes.
