shovel location for my m series

where are you guys putting your shovels on the m series? i have an 09 1000 and want to stop wearing a back pack but dont wanna give up my shovel. help me out!

Ya sure that's a good idea? I know this is off topic but ya should carry it on you or ya might as well leave it in the truck. Your Buddy's will thank you for carrying it.

In your backpack. Also, if you leave the backpack behind where do you carry all the other essential emergency gear? Food, water, first aid kit, extra clothes, etc.

And the shovel is useless for avy rescue when your sled is buried.

When certain conditions permit, we just ride with a mini pack. It's small holds a shovel probe and a few other items. You dont know it's even there. The majority of the time we ride with one strapped on the sled and ALWAYS a shovel on our person.

I have to agree with everyone else. I used to pack mine under the hood till the past 3-4 seasons. Now it's in the backpack were it belongs. The shovel won't do you or any of your buddies any good if it's on your sled buried under the snow! Try a better pack, I really like the True North Adventure Gear packs.
