Should we have a dedicated Rabbit ears / Buff pass subforum?

I'd say most people don't want 10 stickies at the top for each riding area in the state.

It is always easier if you actually check to see if there is a thread about a subject before creating a new one.

Nobody ever does that though :)

I hear the snowies are sweet right now

My sister and bro in law went up this weekend and found about three feet of snow since we were up there the Sunday before Christmas. We rode in Utah and Idaho last week, should have stayed closer to home :)

Anyone ride this weekend? Info? Photo? Vids?

Be back there in 4 days...

Avy danger is bad as far as we analyzed and decided to keep things pretty mellow. Rode up at the Zirkels on Thursday and Rabbit Ears on Friday and saw four natural slides ranging from south to south west aspects. All slab slides about 1ft deep ranging from one on Big Agnes about a 1/4 mile (best guess) wide to about 200ft wide on other hills.. We dug a couple pits and oddly, they sheared at that ice layer thats about 1-2 ft off the bottom... so we are talking 4ft+ slabs, but it never did shear at the new storm layer like the natural slides we saw. Must have settled a lot and it firmed up too... it's not that bottomless pow from a week ago. Lots of wind scouring and wind loading. Anyways, be careful out there.

You better start doing the snow dance cause sunny skies and warm temps have taken a toll on the snow out there...it's 60 here today for goodness sakes!! No snow in the 10 day forecast either! Like I said; pray, dance, wash your car or whatever else you can to make snow fall!!!

Washing the truck usually yields precip!!!

Thurs/Friday looks like snow for the walden/kremmling area.... Maybe it's only like 30%. :/

I hope that there is no specialized Rabbit Ears thread. It leads to balkanization as surely as does the cable/satellite "must carry" rules and loss of state-wide newspapers.
With must carry, third rate podunk tv stations in small markets (Grand Junction) can keep the bigger-market (eg Denver) stations off the air. With that, and the loss of the Denver Post daily delivery and the Rocky Mountain News, we folks in the hinterland have lost contact and common experience with the rest of state.
Of course, if the Rabbit Ears riders really need to be spoonfed the information about their favorite area, or are so busy they can't look at a page of listings, or need to take steps to keep it "secret", maybe the thread is needed.
