Should I turbo or not?

Thanks for all the replys.
I have talked to Justin at Sibler, seams like a real nice and knowledgeable guy.
But since I will only be riding this at higher elevations my gut tells me to buy from some one thats tests and builds the kits out west. If I was to ride at low elevations I think I would buy Justins kit.
Seams like BD's kits are really trying to get a reliable setup with good low end.
Does any one run 7-8 lbs at 10,000ft? Sounds like most run atleast 10psi at that elevation. That's what is pushing me to the intercooler. I'd likie to run with out it but sounds like I might be pushing it.
I dont do alot of big pulls, more tight tree riding and then up and out. I like to climb but we dont have alot of big, long and steep hills.

First thing when I got my PRO was wanting more power…I read and called probably every turbo guy out there and each had their own reason for their setup, respectfully so. I’m finally ready to pull the trigger and go with Aerocharger, they are out of Kansas and have many people doing installs on their kits.

To me it was finding a company who not only tested at high elevation, but low elevation as well and making it seamless from going back and forth. If you’re not looking to run huge boost you can easily go from 1000-12,000 by just switching clutch weights as you would anyway. I have heard 90% of people say good things who have used their kits and love them for the simplicity.

HM turbos take their kit and add a couple more features to it and Shane will explain things like it’s your first time.

I have nothing bad to say about the other kits; I’m sure they are just as good and will make a great sled even better.

You are correct that Justin is from lower elevation an is great for setting up a kit for low elevation like myself, but he also travels out west numerous times a year and he also has reps like Boston Racing out of Colorado that is helping to set up his kits for out west. I have compared quite a few different turbos and I have called quite a few of the manufactures. Overall I think that every kit has its perks, but I would call each manufacuer and talk to the person making and setting up your sled. I don't know how to say it, but you will just click with one person and then you will know where you are getting your turbo from. R&D is also a huge portion on buying a turbo and it is also important to have a person available 24/7 whenever you have a breakdown because anything can happen.

Im thinking the same thing , Redrock.
I want to boost my pro as well and dont want to be messing with fuel boxes all the time .
Ive talked at length with my local BD dealer/installer and also talked at length with Boston Racing about the Silber kit
(the local BD guy said he is willing to work with the Silber kit).
Both are telling me the same thing ... if the kit is installed correctly , you will have no issues and both stand behind their product.
I do like the fact that the Silber can be installed without cutting the tunnel.
Personaly Id go with who is local to you ,that can help you with whatever kit you choose.

Cutting the tunnel for muffler is no big deal. The tunnel dump muffler is the bomb. Never bogs in deep snow. Never had a sled that wouldn't bog, in the right snow, with stock location. Why does twisted or ovs turn them out the side? Don't know if the pro kits do but they did it on the cats.

Does anyone know what the price on Aerocharger kit is? For the pro 800. Some say that the aerocharger is very responsive on the bottom and mid range compared to the others.

I called Justin this Sunday afternoon at his shop with (now that he explained it) a stupid question on a fitment issue. He answered immediately and was very nice and helpful. First turbo install and I am sure I would have ?'s with any kit. I will be ready to aereate some grass fields here shortly. If he wouldn't have answered I wouldn't be able to race next weekend. With his service I will now be able to.

Boost-it from Alberta. Saw the kit last week on his own Pro. It is artwork.
Then check out Youtube vids. These guys have it worked out
I have a Silber kit I like it but these guys have taken it to the next level.

if you want a good turbo set up that won't ever let you down search out "boost it " they are in alberta canada you won't be disappointed
Thanks for the props, but I don't want to confuse anyone here. We are not shipping a kit this season, but rather doing all installs in house. I know we are losing multiple sales because of it, but we do not need to sell a bunch of kits. We are looking for the the customers in Western Canada that want the best polaris kit period.
Our kit is quite involved and has a lot of extras that other companies do not even offer as options. We have done it this way so the customer has a high performing trouble free product from day one. By keeping the number of kits down, we are able to offer a very high quality of service to our customers.

We may be setting up a couple dealers in the Western US to sell and install our kits for next fall, but no plans are in place at this time.

Thanks

I just wanted to avoid any confusion.

By doing in-house installations, you are cutting out MANY variables for an improper instal.
That's a smart business decision to invest in quality installations at the expense of having a LOT of kits out there. Who knows if a customer will install it the same way you would.

90% of all issues had by most turbo kits come from bad or poorly installed kits, when done right its all this:face-icon-small-hap:bounce:

That is a part of it, but this way I also get to shake each customers hand and show them exactly what they are getting and how it works. There is a good chance I will get to ride with many of them too.

The biggest issue by far, is that I have seen way too many guys riding in BC that have nothing but problems, and they really don`t have any support. You would be shocked to see how many people in Alberta and BC took their turbo kits off or just sold their Pro`s because of the non stop problems.

I am just a sledder like everyone else, and it really bothers me when people can`t ride because their stuff won`t run.

I hope your expansion into the Western US works out next fall!! I think you have a great product and I totally respect your business philosophy. It's nice to see a company that cares more about the finished product than they do the profits!!!
I'd love one of your kits!! Hopefully you can get a dealer set up in Utah or Southeastern Idaho.

My personal experience, I suggest you buy from someone like Boondocks. They have a legitimate business with published working hours and people to answer the phone and call you back. I made the mistake of buying a Silber kit for my 09' Dragon and was left to figure it out on my own. Don’t let all Justin’s buddy’s tell you any different – he is a difficult (at best) to deal with.

i built my own turbo kit in 08/09 for an IQR cfi 800. i went with the attitude fuel controller, but the guy that sold them was super hard to get a hold of. since i was new to the 2 stoke turbo game and i was on a DIY kit there were a lot of variables. after a couple weeks of being frustrated getting it dialed in i stumbled across justin and he used the same controller. when i first called him i said " i made my own kit and didnt buy my controller from you, but can you help?" he probably spent an hour on the phone with me over the next few weeks, even answering on saturdays when i was on the hill tuning. he didnt know me from Adam and had nothing vested to take the time he did, but i am super grateful he did.

I had the exact same experience with Justin, but mine was a boondocker kit. Could not believe how helpful he was and I hadn't spent a dime on anything from him. But, I guess it paid off, because I'm buying his kit this year.
