Should I cancel Tog for Jan. 10th?

I'm booked at a smaller private cabin just to the east of Tog Pass and plan to ride Jan. 10th to the 15th. I know it is still over three weeks off but if I'm going to postpone I need to do it sooner then later. I know it typically gets much better after X-mas and am on the fence about what to do.

Cuzz,

Three weeks is a long ways away. The last three years the snow has been awesome between Christmas and New Years. Typically, the snows will come. So far Tog has not been lucky this year when it comes to snow. They claim it is good up top but look at the web cam for lodge conditions. It looks pretty thin there. I'd sit tight for another week before I pulled the plug.

well, i have a few days in already this season up at tog and it has been the most reliable winter playground since october up here. we do need one more storm for most stuff to have good coverage...down low by the lodge might need 2 storms...but we are only about 10-15" of base away from solid coverage conditions. riding at the divide is good, i've ridden over the hood pow multiple days up there already this year...the base is here, we just need new snow on top to make things good. the snowpack is pretty sketchy here right now though, so steep and deep may not be the best place to try and be in 2-3 weeks. we have a snowpack that is half facets and depth hoar/ half weakening new snow from the last big storm. i think that by jan 10 coverage should be fine...3 weeks is a long time around here. looked like it was snowing in the tetons today, and is supposed to keep up overnight. my advice, just come in 3 weeks with an open mind and be open to rolling with the punches and you will have fun...theres plenty of pow to find out there if you look hard enough.
