Setup Suggestions Anyone???

So the new riding season is upon us and I am just getting my new and improved ride back together. I have a 2009 Summit X 163" with a stage 3 SLP performance package and Vforce reeds. I decided to send my cylinders to Dave at Trygstad Motorsports for some porting and am going to put in his ceramic top single ring pistons. I also have a Camo Extreme 2.5 on the way. I just wanted some input on my carb and clutching setup. I currently (with just the stage 3 SLP kit) run 500 mains with .020 needle shims. It does run pretty rich. Dave has suggested to run 490 main on the mag side and 500 or 540 on the pto side ( he says the pto side runs hotter, go figure!), run a 20 pilot and that my needle shim is good. I know Dave knows his stuff I was just wondering if anyone has similar mods and what they found the perfect setup is? As far as clutching goes, I run DJ's kit and love it. He has suggested that I keep my pin weight the same (as I have been running with just the stage 3 kit cant remember exactly what I have in there right now) and run 160/380 primary spring and try it. I was just wondering what everyones thoughts are any input would be great. I run 20/49 gearing if anyone was wondering. Thanks guys.

Can't believe nobody has any input:face-icon-small-fro. I am just going to run the 500 mains and keep an eye on everything only thing I would like to know is the setting for the pilot screw after I change the stock 17.5's out for 20's. Anyone know?

I would double check with Joe on the spring....if you add power you would have to go with less primary spring or more pin weight, not a stiffer primary spring....assuming the same target RPM. We rarely see a need to change clutching going from the stock 163 to the Camo 2.5. At most a SMALL pin weight drop or a clicker change.
Go with what Dave suggests with his porting for jetting. SLP jetting recs are rich, most guys around here run their pipe with stock jetting or go up one size.
I agree with your gearing choice for that track....maybe experiment with the 21 and see which works best for you.

OK so I changed out the old track for the Camo 2.5 and noticed my bottom sprocket has some play in it side to side. I didn't notice this when I took everything apart is this normal? Almost seems like it should be shimmed.
