Setting up the 300 XC for snow

I tried to post a pic but it said it exceeds my quota by 2.9mb??? Anyway maiden voyage today. Loved it. Gearing is too tall as the most I could pull was 3rd gear and that was really fast. It did run really inconsistent like another guy said. The Engine got totally full of snow instantly as we have about 60cm of fresh snow right at my house. This is where a pic would be nice. I believe this to play a big part in the inconsistency. It would be boggy then all of a sudden rip. Then it would die all of a sudden at wot right when it was ripping like I seized it. But then it fired right up again so???? I will make an engine shield of some sort to keep end temps up. I have thermobob but could only maintain 50*c coolant temp because the engine was constantly under snow. My pod filter right on the carb didn't work that great so I will need a snorkel too. I had an outerwear on it.

Get the PST intake. Great product/great price. Also what you are experiencing is pipe temp and moisture related. Put some red heat in it halfway through the day. Get a CF pipe guard and see if that helps.

Engine cover/blanket is the answer

I made an engine cover out of Fiberglas. First I shrink wrapped it and then I put two layers of fibreglass on it. I took it for a spin in the same snow I was previously having lots of issues w and it ran flawlessly. Coolant temps stayed bang on 74 degrees Celsius the whole time and the snow was always up to the rads. I also removed the stock air box to give some more space since I don't need it and got rid of the rear fender too since there isn't much mud where I ride. Also got the rrs shock on now and really like how plush it is. Next step... Turbo.

I can't find the pic of it but I also made a pipe insulator out of exhaust insulation w the same idea of how all sled pipes are and that is still on
