Setting up a Go Pro

Just picked up a Go Pro. Anybody have some tips on what works best? Do the mounts ever pop off? I'm worried about losing the camera. Best editing software? My wife loves pictures/movies and has some type of software but I'm not sure what. Thanks in advance for any help!

I also just got a GoPro. I have used it a couple times but haven't been able to watch the videos yet because my computer is old and sucks. It will not play the MP4 GoPro files. Guess I need a new computer now :face-icon-small-coo

Talking with other GoPro people they like the 720 and 960 resolutions 60 frames/second just because you get more recording time. So far I have not heard of any cameras falling off.

What kind of computer and editing software do you have?

I have a 6 month old computer so that shouldn't be an issue. I'm not sure what kind of software my wife has or if it will work for that matter. Getting it setup on my helmet/sled is the first priority. In the near future I want to get a laptop so I can download to a zipdrive. I can't wait to film.

I Just go one... Rode the snowies with it last weekend...helmet mount worked great, No issues with it getting loose at all.... We ran it on video.. and sometimes it was hard to hold your head just right.got a few shots of only front bumper.. I think I will try the picures next.. Just to see what it captures..
Do make sure you shut off when stop to leak..... Everybody will see your JOHNSON..... Even the kids... Oh sh$!.... Delete..Delete.Delete..

Go with the gopro chest mount harness and you will not be disappointed. The elevation perspective is unreal! Basically you can tell your going up or down hill wayyyy more than the helmet mount. Though the helmet mount is def my second choice. Also I like the tall angle setting because the lens is plenty wide without having to go to the wide setting, I believe it's already on it in the default, but check your instructions anyways. Good luck!

You guys can download an mp4 player off the go pro website or just download a modern version that supports mp4. Your computers are fine. Found this out trying to help my dad get video on his.

So it is a format problem not a computer problem.

I have found that if you set your go pro on r4 default it will give you the best vertical views, and real life speeds.and Tip your cam up a bit if you got it on your helmet. If you dont when your watching your videos on your tv,youll be looking up trying to see what is comming up lol
