selling my 09 m1000 motor

Why???

im thinking of selling my 09 m1000 motor and installing a 2010 m8 motor im not sure how hard the swap would be

The swap wouldn't be difficult, but it would be cheaper to buy a new sled...
I can tell you that the 2010 M8 motor in the 09 chassis won't "feel" like a 2010 M8, and you will miss the torque, unless you are putting a turbo on it. You would need the motor, exhaust, primary clutch, throttle bodies and injectors, ECM, CCU, etc, etc. I'm betting the difference between what you'll sell your used stuff for vs. the cost of new parts will be more then the price difference on a trade in...

I know a guy who wants to stuff an M1000 motor into an IQR chassis .... let me know if you decide you want to sell it, I'll put you two in touch :)

I know a guy that wants to stuff a 2010 M8 engine into an 09 Assault chassis....................oh yah, it's me.

Trading in is by far the way to go but there is no difference between a 2009 and 2010 chassis...an 07 or 08 for sure but not an 09. IMO

im tired of blowing belts every fifty miles and the shop has already replaced motor mounts ,plate , and aligned the clutches twice i figured it would be four to five grand for a swap thats about how much i would lose trading it in

Tons of people have fixed their belt issues, do some venting, buy a carlisle belt & be happy you have torque to go with the HP.

Try a second motor mount and a torque stop. If that doesn't work put in aftermarket motor mounts. I think Proline makes some.

ill try the motor mounts just sucks you spend fourteen grand on a sled and it should work arctic cat needs to step up and fix the problem polaris rebuilt all the engines for people and cat wont even fix a motor mount problem

If everyone was having problems they would probably fix it. I don't have any troubles, my dad doesn't have any troubles.

If it'd cost you 4-5K to do the swap or to trade in, why would you waste your time and pull your hair out doing the swap and trying to get it to work right?

there seems to be alot of people with the same issue there are all kinds of fixes on here for it three of my buddies have the same issue and i already have lots into my new sled i dont really want to get rid of it i just want it to work

VENTING!! Lots of it, gauge cage as well, you can have all the venting in the world to bring cold air in but the gauge cage gives the hot air off your pipe somewhere to go. You will have to be conscious of how hot your belt is getting, if you rage around in 4 feet of snow for 15 minutes, let it cool for a few. These sleds rock, but to have this much torque you have to deal with a few small issues. Changing motors because you are blowing belts is like cutting your finger off because you have a splinter.
