Saws

Sven saw too

X2 on the Sven.: Been carrying it for about 10 seasons. Cuts easy, real sharp.... Plus, you can get replacement blades. They come in 2 sizes too.
IMO: The Sven works better then any of those little fold out saws; it can cut material up to a ft in diameter! We've used chainsaws too for bigger wood: We carry them in milk crates strapped to the tunnel, cut what we need to and stash them and then pick them up on the way out.

I haven't had much with the flip open saws maybe I just tried the el cheapos. I have a wyoming saw that works well and is high quality. You can't cut really big stuff with it. I carry it year round, awsome tool.

I love stihl products across the board!

Stihl actually makes two different size folding saws. The ps 10 and ps30. The ps30 is recommended for branches up to 4.5" retails around $35

I do a ton of trail building in the summer and cut thousands of branches and small trees. I really like the stihl ps60. High carbon tapered teeth. Stays super sharp for a long time. 9.5" Long blade for less back and forth. Cuts fast with minimal effort. Replacement blades available. Cuts on the pull stroke only. Comes with a plastic sheath. Fits under my seat no problem. Recommended for branches up to 7.5" but I have cut bigger. Retails around $25. Our local True Value stocks them.

Having busted plenty of other saws I can vouch for these ones.

I use a Browning light weight saw, it works awesome and weighs next to nothing. It came with this blade and a meat blade!!, cuts like a sob to.

Those browning saws are nothing short of (eat a tree up fast), I prefer the Gerber saw because of the size, and they work super well for what they are.

I pack a Stihl PS30 for small stuff because it very fast and a hand chain for larger stuff. These two saws travel with me year around. I have three hand chains, one in my sled, one in my truck, and one in my saddle bags. The stihl travels back and forth between the three:)

THANK YOU for posting that. I had one years ago and lost it, wasn't sure what it was called and so I haven't been able to find a replacement. IT ROCKS! I now have a Gerber that is sharp and indestructable, but I'll be adding this one back into my pack!

I use this one but I wont say "I use it every ride"

It works very well and has got me out of some serious timber.

AHAH!! thats the one i have.. a corona.. the only time i have had any issues is I was trying to cut an 8" tree down over the road, cut in from the top some, then started from the bottom and didnt hit the cut perfect and when trying to finish the cut it put a tiny wobble in the blade.. but thats 2 years of forest slaying behind it.. and it wasnt very $$$

i spent a summer working for a contract company via the forest service in the wilderness zones. as most know gas powered tools are not permitted. an old growth cedar decided to fall across the trail and we had to use the "old timer" two man saws. worst four days of my life cutting one tree! we didn't get our cuts perfect and wasted a whole day. this tree was over 100 years old and had a circumference of 24 feet  maybe i'll just carry a 020 stihl climbing saw!!

much respect to the settlers of this country and especially the north and northwest regions.

I have a Gerber fold up hacksaw style and the style like a big pocket knife. Love both of them and they were both very reasonable price at Bass Pro
