Well, with all the pissed off weather gods and Jesus not liking Tebow right now we are stuck to trails.

We need to give the frankensled a test run before putting on a longer track and start going nuts with it.

My buddy got a Saturday pass and we don't want to waste it. Doesn't happen very often.

Where is the best bet for Saturday? We were thinking RE but it's not sounding to good from what I read. Anybody know what Winter Park church park or corona looks like? Grand Lake, I've been reading the groomers report. and it looks okay. By the way they have just launched a new site http://www.grandlaketrailgroomers.com/ pretty nice.

Looking for the best conditions within 2 hours.
So any opinions? Where is everybody else riding?

Matt

I live in Summit County (Dillon/Silverthorne) and I'd skip here.Almost raining today at 9000' and 42 degrees.

If it was me I'd choose Rabbit Ears over Grand Lake. They get consistently better snow than Grand Lake and the base elevation is higher. As far as Corona/Winter Park I'm sure someone will comment.
Not the best source of info but gives you a general idea of what the ski areas are claiming http://www.coloradoski.com/snow-report and of course snotel data(not made up exaggerated #'s) http://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/snotel/Colorado/colorado.html

Matt, Your best bet within 2 hours will most likely be Church Park or Corona. Both have decent snow and you will find some nice pockets of deep snow due to the wind. RE is an option but you will drive an extra hour and a half.

Be careful judging new snow off ski reports. It might give you an idea weather the storm went north, south, or right down I70.

It rained most of the night. Just started snowing on RE but dust on mush isn't the best. It has been snowing more over on the East side of the county (Grand) and from what I have seen thru pics and heard from friends over there, the snow is better than RE.

I rode both Grand Lake and RE last weekend, and definitely recommend RE over GL.

Cept it rained there yesterday and last night. But Corona and Church would be better. I actually saw photos of snow coming down there last night.

church

we rode church yesterday and it was ok. they were getting the trails ready for the weekend. if you look around you can find some decent snow with pockets of DEEP. it was snowing when we left..

We decided to give Grand Lake a shot tomorrow.
Any time spent on the sled beats the crap out of sitting on my butt in A-town.
Should be a good time hunting for the stashes :face-icon-small-hap
