Sandpoint riding?

All--wondering what the snowbike scene is like around Sandpoint ID. I imagine it's pretty good, and Canada is in your back yard, but would like to get some hard info. Thinking about relocating--Telluride is just getting to be too much. Must be okay if that's where the sport started, right? Wondering about singletrack in the summer, too. Doesn't look like all that much on the map? Thanks!

Sandpoint Terrain

If your looking for the thicker tree riding/boondocking, and close access to Canada's mountains, Sandpoint is the spot. We've got a bunch of different terrain from more open mountains and bowls, to the thickest, nastiest tree riding you could want. Our snow is a bit heavier than some areas in the west, and in the recent years, less consistent than in the past but we still get tons of snow above 4000 feet.

Summer singletrack is endless too, there is hundreds of miles of trails, from easy to extreme. Lots of rocky terrain though, definitely tire shredding terrain if you ride as wide open as I do, but I'm not complaining

and a huge lake to cool off and play in..

I live just south of sandpoint and have for almost 20 years(I'm 23 now), and ride here summer and winter. I love the terrain, and there is good opportunity for work here too. I have a designing background and there is plenty of opportunity for me to find more work.

If it helps you to know who I am, I designed and build the UFO snow bike kit in this area, and now work in the R&D/Engineering department @ Timbersled right in Ponderay/Sandpoint. Moto Trax's stomping grounds are around here as well, so if that doesn't say something about the snowbiking in this area, I'm not sure what does. Yeti is just a few hours north too..

I hope this helps you out with some info! Good luck on the decision! Oh and don't tell anyone
