RX-1 Above 7000ft

What is good carb setup for the RX above 7000ft? Just go with yamaha's std spec from the book? I have the lighter carb springs. red and silver. Looking for main, needle and fuel screw settings. Running the clutching from the 05's Pretty Please!

My 03 is running 130 mains,17.5 pilots,stock springs,updated float bowls,floats at 15mm needle in the middle(has a bit of midrange lean,am going up 1 clip) 1 7/8 on the fuel screws.run 7-11,000 ft.

I have mine set at 130 mains, stock pilots, 17.5, red holtzman springs, updated float bowls, floats at 13.5mm, needle in #3, which is the middle, fuel screws at 1.5. Going to give this set up a try. I will mainly be riding in 7000-9000 ft.

let us know how it turns out. I'm hitting the Mtns in a couple of weeks and last year sled ran like crap up high.
Like to know what changes to make aswell.

is your sled totally stock? what track are you running? keeping the rpms's around 10,200 is a major deal in the mtns.

Freeheeler. I am the guy you talked to on the phone this summer when you were deciding on picking the AC skid in your RX. I have kept up with your thread on TY4stroke. I am running 153" with the AC skid on mine. Little lighter in places with a custom exhaust but I went back to the stock air box for out west as suggested by many to have the fewest problems. Running 05 clutching with the shockwave secondary. Had it at the dealer yesterday and we think we have a good setup^^^^. I will post back when I return with my results and any changes. But I am open to anyone else that has a good setup.

RX,how do you like your AC skid ? I just installed an M7 skid in mine and messed up my ankle,havent had a chance to ride it yet ! It seems very soft to me,may need some heavier torsion springs.

Highpockets, love the skid so far. I also had to go with biggest springs and made a world of difference. I am 250 in gear and I only have the heavier springs on the middle setting. Depending on what year AC skid you have the Holz relocation kit also made a big difference.
