Running Issues 2011 800 Pro

Polaris told my dealer to put in new injectors, will be picking the sled up tomorrow afternoon, will ride on Saturday.
Will report back on how it goes.

Went for a ride on Saturday sled runs great, glad I have the 4 year warranty.

I think I may be having the same issue. Described below

When I start the sled (I let it warm up to 100 Deg coolant temp 1st) it runs like a monster for about 5-10 minutes then it starts bogging and hits a wall around 7000 RPMs. I toss in a fresh set of plugs and it will run great as long as I am in the throttle and as soon as I drop into the midrange for more than 20 seconds its all loaded up again and wont go over 7000.

What was even weirder was the only time I got it to run good all day was once we gained about 2500ft of elevation. Then as soon as we went over the hill and dropped 1000ft it ran like crap again the rest of the day.

Its at the dealer getting new injectors put in tomorrow. I hope this fixes it!

My 2011 pro 800 is having a simular problem. It runs good when its cold or not under load but once it warms up and you put it under load on a hard pull running 3/4 throttle or more it will have a glitch like someone hit the kill switch for a couple seconds and then turned it back on. I just keep the throttle down and then it picks up for a couple seconds and repetes like someone hit the kill switch again and it goes on and on. But then if I shut it off and it cools down it is good to go again for about 3 to 5 min. Any help would be greately appreciated, I have no warrenty because it was a race program sled. and it is not over reving it only pulls around 8000 to 8100 rpms

Well dealer replaced injectors yesterday and that didn't fix it. Fortunately for me I was smart enough to buy an M8 for my fiancee so I still got a good ride in today.

Looks like new TPS is next. Honestly after my motor going down last year and now the sled having been in the shop for 3 weeks already this season I'm about ready to jump ship. This damn sled is feeling like a lemon :(

A friend of mine had one that run like that and it was the sensor in the air box,
another friend add two of his Pro's act the same and turned out to be the hand
warmers. Its kinda hit and miss, most of the time it is the TPS or injectors.
My Dealer has seen several of these, I hope Polaris realizes that their is a problem.

Well I called my dealer today and we got to talking about the sensor in the air box and hopefully he will give that a try tomorrow.

Its really hard to be patient when the best riding of the best year we have had in AK in a long time is upon us and my sled is in the shop. Last year I lost my crank on an epic blue bird day and was down for 3 weeks now this! UGH!

If its not fixed soon im buying another sled and selling this when it gets out of the shop

i had the same problem on my assault 2011 they change fuel filter and injector
,and no improvement the engin got dead in the next run broken bearing clutch side , my friend did the same thing and 3 others sled , they dont take enought oil , i now have a brand new engine and all 4 sleds

PROBLEM NOT SOLVED ! Took my sled for another ride and the bog is back, the funny thing is it will do it at different rpm some time at 5600 then in the 6000 range or not till in the 7000 range, will all most all ways do it when you grab a hand full of throttle or be powered on climbing a hill let off a slight amount for what ever reason then get back into it and it bogs, it even back fired on me once. I am starting to think it might be in the throttle safety switch, use to disconnect them back in the day for a similar problem, going to put it on the stand and try to find the problem, if no luck it will back to the dealer on Tue.

I have a 2012 pro 800 that started to act up. It acts as you describe when climbing and you let off it will stumble when you get back on the throttle. When traveling down the trail it seems to loose the ring a ding ding when you let off the throttle in the 4700 to 6000 rpm range but it does not stumble on aceleration. Does not cut out at high rpms at all though. Droped it off at the dealer to see what they can find. Please post if they get yours fixed.

This sounds like what I've got problems with too. Started having a few bogs over the last few days of riding, then yesterday it go real bad. It only bogs out at low and mid range, will never bog out when I'm at full RPM.

Gonna take it to the dealer hopefully this week. What a pain in the azz with incredible snow out there!

For those of you experiencing the top end bog (somewhere around 6200 to 6500 rpm) here is what I found on mine. I pulled my exhaust valves to clean and inspect. I found that the little hole that goes through the exhaust valve and into the cylinder, was completely blocked on both cylinders. Compressed air was not enough to get rid of the plug. We used a piece of small stiff wire and really worked at it to push out whatever it was that was blocking the holes. Had to do this two or three times on one cylinder, because every time we turned the motor over it would plug back up.
Two long rides after cleaning these holes and the sled has never ran as good. For the exhaust valves to work properly those holes into the cylinder must be open!
Something to check out if you get a chance.

Same problem and I did the exhaust valve cleaning, TPS, check ground and plug wires, etc., etc. Mine turned out to be a combination of the throttle cable being too slack (so the TSS kicks in and bogs the motor when you hammer the throttle) and not enough clutch weight after I'd cut the track (F-Bomb's track mod will gain you some rpm's which can be enough to hit the limiter when initially hammering the throttle). Also ran a quart of toluene thru a tank to clean the injectors and solved the low end fuel loading up issue. Sled runs like new now!

Have FUN!

Dealer found the issue to be a loose TPS main connection. Installed a new main connector and all is good. He said they've seen a few with this same thing.
