running boards

Im looking to upgrade my 2012 155 assault boards cause they absolutely suck for snow build up just wondering what other people have put on theres and how you liked them.

I love my Skinz Airframes, they don't let snow build up, and they are a bit wider than stock. Tons of traction as too. I have a few friends with the Burandt boards and they seem to really like them as well.

I had originally planned on installing one of the tubular designs(Skinz or BM Fabrications) but when the "Burandt Boards" became available I went with those instead.

They work very well, & IMHO, look good/clean.

FWIW, any of the above choices are solid contenders.

I have both. Install is easy. The part that takes all the time is the installation of the traction screws on the skinz boards. If I had to choose again, I would go for the Burandt boards. Cheaper and faster to install.

How are the burandt boards and skinz to install did you guys do it yourself?

Having a rivet gun, body saw, & die grinder(with zip & flapper wheel attachments) makes the project fairly straightforward.

Times 1000 on the rivet gun. We put Polaris 2013 boards on our 2011. Fit like a glove. As far as drilling holes down next to the tunnel. I used a battery drill and put a piece of sheet metal between the drill chuck and the tunnel so the rotating drill chuck won't scuff up the side of the tunnel. Also used the bigger head rivets and installed them on every outward support brace. As opposed to every other one that come stock on the 2013-2014.

I put 2013 stock boards on my 2012 pro.

They feel a touch wider than stock , much stiffer, and evacuate snow well.

Another vote for airframes they flat work . I never had a running board even come close to having this much foot traction never once have my feet slipped.

I ran a set of B&M Fab boards on my '11 and I loved them, they give you the traction screws and you can place them wherever you want to. I'm going to try the stock '13 boards this year and if they can't hold up I'll be putting B&Ms back on, they are about the same price as the Burandt boards and I saw my powdercoated B&M boards on my '11 hold less snow than a stock '13 board by far.

If you go with B&M Fab I'd recommend not getting the wrinkled finish. It's a snow magnet. Mine build up mounds of ice at each joint next to the tunnel that are very annoying, and a pain to clear out. I'm going to strip them and coat them in gloss to hopefully fix the problem. Buddy runs the Burandt boards and they work awesome, especially for the price.

Another vote for the Burandt boards. I chose these because they are cheaper, fairly easy to install, have good traction without the boot eating screws of the "tube" models.

Comes down to function vs. $ to spend.

Burandt will get you much better over stock and a bit easier to install.

B&M/Skinz will get you the least snow build up but more $ and a bit more to install. All that said, I installed a set of Skinz on my IQ and went with the B&M boards on my 11 assault. Install of Skinz/B&M is virtually the same and in my mind worth every penny and every minute of the install for the function you get out of them. B&M crew is awesome to deal with.

Nothing can compare to the tube style boards in terms of snow evacuation. Are you willing to spend the $ to get the function.

Mad Fab boards work great, I also have a 11 Pro that I installed the Burandt boards on and they work and look great.
