running boards support

what is everyone using to stiffen up there running boards? I have skidoo's supports they work ok but looking for something more thanks

seems like the best thing to do is get Better Boards. there are a couple of threads on them in general i think. not only do they stiffen up the boards but they prevent snow/ice buildup, which over the years has probably made the boards a bit anemic.

seems like everyone that has them is genuinely satisfied and happy with them.

We all use Specialty Sled Stiffeners. They cost about 120 bones. Easy to install with a few rivets. Put the rivets in upside down for some more grip on the boots.

I have an extra set of stiffy's for a 06-07 Rev for sale if your interested. They retail for $160 with hdpe cover sheet but I'd sell them for $90 + sh. These pix are of the M7 but the Rev's is similar. Nice thing about the Stiffy's is that you dont cut out all of the material...on the Rev you just cut out every other tread so they are very strong.

VanAmberg makes a set for anything. Just give him the dimensions and if he doesn't have them, he will make them. Around $125 for a set. Similar to the snow eliminators.

Good choice, you won't regret it! I've put them on my last 2 sleds, and will have them on every sled I own in the future.

For the hardcore rider.
You can even get your name or handle on these on the vertical plane. Superstrong, the strongest out there for sure. Like the ski doo ones but made from 3/16" aluminum and large snow clearing foot platform. Obviously some cutting of footstep area is required as is with others.

Two styles to choose from or both can be used together.
Front ones are made from 1/4'' 6061 aluminum
Mirror finish or brushed or anodised or powdercoated colours.
Large bend radius and hydro cut.
Braces also tuck under outer rail and use many of the existing holes in your tunnel.

The ones that F-Bomb makes or the ones that Marcuso used to make are by far better than the ski-doo style stiffeners. I had those ones, they didnt work. terrible engineering in my opinion, both the original design and that style of 'fix'

My bro and i have the Beefy Plates that peterfireblade makes. I thoroughly impressed with them, definitely bulletproof with good snow clearing. I cannot bend these things. They are in my experience the only ones that hold up. I had the f-bomb ones and bent them, as i did with the ski doo ones. To cut a long story short i wished i had spent the money on the Beefy Plates in the first place. My rails are nice and straight even after having straightened them twice and then put the beefy plates on. Excellent . The polished ones shed the ice better, worth polishing or buying polished if you don't do it yourself. Takes time to get a mirror finish and looks awesome.

Yeh dude the beefy plates are the only sh_t. I love mine super strong which is the reason i wanted a tunnel/rail strengthener
